If you had the most common surname in the UK, what would you name your boy / girl?
Most of the names we like are quite safe and traditional but I don't want them to have exactly the same name as several of their classmates! We particularly like girls names ending in -a and simple masculine boys' names. No middle names decided on yet.

I have one of the most common surnames , and my children have traditional ,normal and probably in the top 30 , but not top 10 names .
As long as you don't go for Tom , Jack ,Harry and Sophie , Emily , Jessica etc you should be fine .
They have never had anyone with the same name in their school , let alone form .
