Indian/English Girls and Boys names.

Afternoon All,

DH (English) and I(Indian) have decided we want to have indian names for our baby(to maintain some sense of heritage - surname is very english). We do not know if we are having a pink one or a blue one and don?t intend on finding out.

Does anyone know of any Indian/English (Indian names that are similar to English names or easily pronounceable) that are a bit different to the Jay?s and Arun?s etc.

If you are in a similar relationship what have you called your little ones?

I know an Indian origin Anjali, which I think is lovely and would suit both English and Indian requirements. Or Anjna. Also know an Indian Kanoushka, which I think is lovely although to me it sounds Russian.

Another vote for Rohan here. I've known an Indian Rohan and an English one.

Priya is also a lovely name.

I've also seen Maia (not sure of the spelling) used by an Indian/English family.
