I have always liked both these names. What do they say to you?

Auntfini Wed 28-Aug-13 20:39:46

I don't mind tabitha but I taught a few horrible jemimas, so that name is ruined for me!

YoungBritishPissArtist Wed 28-Aug-13 20:41:54

Solidly middle-class grin Not that that's a bad thing.

FriskyHenderson Wed 28-Aug-13 20:52:30

I prefer Tabitha with Lydia, and Miranda with Jemima.

Dilligufdarling Wed 28-Aug-13 21:02:42

Always have loved Tabitha - I'd put it with Artemis

Littlecherublegs Wed 28-Aug-13 21:30:14

First thoughts are:

Tabitha - cat
Jemima - puddleduck

Prefer Jemima.

RobinSparkles Wed 28-Aug-13 21:31:59

They say to me that someone has read a lot of Beatrix Potter!

I prefer Jemima. smile

AnythingNotEverything Wed 28-Aug-13 21:32:26

I like Jemima. I've never met one.

Tabitha makes me think of a cat.

Biscuitsneeded Wed 28-Aug-13 21:34:38

I think they work better on animals. Sorry!

Diddle82 Wed 28-Aug-13 21:51:53

Love tabitha (this is the name i wanted all through my last pregnancy but we had a boy in the end) only slight thing that put me off was not so keen on it being shortened to tabby

CityGal29 Wed 28-Aug-13 22:33:36

Beatrix Potter grin

kiwik Wed 28-Aug-13 22:35:31

Animal names. DH is a vet, so has vetoed Tabitha every time.
Jemima I love though - reminds me of the rag doll in Play School.

PatriciaHolm Wed 28-Aug-13 22:37:43

Tabitha is a cat, Jemima is a playschool doll ;-)

Saffyz Wed 28-Aug-13 22:40:29

Safe aspirational North London names from several years ago. I'd put Matilda and Cordelia on the same list.

ZeroTolerance Wed 28-Aug-13 22:58:21

Ouch Saffyz.

Tattva Wed 28-Aug-13 22:58:27

I love them both. Both front runners for DD.

Woodland animals in pinafores! grin And there's me thinking they're dead classy wink

MrsSchadenfreude Thu 29-Aug-13 18:08:18

Not together! Otherwise people will think Tabitha Twitchit and Jemima Puddleduck. Either or, but not both.

ZeroTolerance Thu 29-Aug-13 18:36:18

I never meant together - only one baby coming! Should have said "or" not & grin

Yonionekanobe Thu 29-Aug-13 19:12:29

Both on my list. Both vetoed by DH who clearly has no taste wink

efffy Thu 29-Aug-13 19:19:21

Live them both, but Jemima pips it for me smile

JamieandtheMagicTorch Thu 29-Aug-13 19:40:30

They say posh and a bit prissy . Sorry

JamieandtheMagicTorch Thu 29-Aug-13 19:41:56

I'm North London and Middle Class. But clearly not following the party line when it comes to names

BigKicker Thu 29-Aug-13 22:20:45

I love Tabitha but decided against it as really can't stand the NN Tabby. Not really a fan of Jemima I'm afraid!
