You can't go wrong with either, they are both lovely.

I think you have to look at your baby first before you make a firm decision.

I agree that you have to see the baby first. We have just been struggling with Boys names and it feels nice to have a couple of names that people wing laugh at!!

Also, DS is very keen on selling it Rupert if a boy ( he loves Rupert the bear). He wants it to be called tummy lump if its a girl though...

I love both but Monty is my favourite. It was top of our boys name list before we found out bump is pink!

Rupert is lovely, best boy name ever.

Not keen on Monty - maybe because I knew a horse called Monty, so it's a horse's name to me.

Monty is ace! Rupert is good too though. Monty is a good mix of old fashioned, modern and unusual.

Are you posh?

Could always put both in.
Ie.

Rupert Ivan Montgomery xxx

Montgomery Rupert Ivan xxx

DH has been known by friends as his middle name, which could happen if Monty was in the middle I think.

I don't think you have to be 'posh' to use Rupert.

Rupert Grint doesn't seem posh.

Rupert.

I like Monty, but in my head it's a dogs name (I was going to call a male puppy Monty see).

squoosh · 23/08/2013 13:20

Both veh, veh, veh posh.

If I had to go for one I suppose it would it would be Montgomery although I'm not sure if I'd have the nerve to call out 'Monty, your dinner's ready' within earshot of other humans.

Rupert is so weedy and wetter than the Atlantic Ocean.
