Love Robin and love Laurie as nn for Laurence. Matias is nice. Luca is okay but prefer Luke or Lucas. Dislike Kasper and Finn.

Love Susannah.

From your boys list I'd pick Finn(ian)

Actively dislike the others.

From your girls list I'd pick ... well, at a push Isla, but only if I could only choose from that list.

Not easy is it smile & I fully expect you would hate my choices too!! grin

I prefer Robyn - for a girl

JamieandtheMagicTorch Thu 22-Aug-13 18:09:28

I like Caspar, Luca and Alexander

Susannah is the standout girls' name. It's lovely, familiar but unusual at the moment

Hmm, think I might discount Anni then, we will live in the UK for the foreseeable future.

For the boys I like Theo, Leo and Luca.

For the girls I only like Cora and Isla.

Don't like Coraline at all but love Cora and I like robin but for a girl, also like Isla. I think Kasper is lovely but would spell it with a C.

Sorry just saw your post above saying Lauri and Anni are spelt that way in your country. I think they're fine that way really, was just interested if they were short for anything smile

From boys, I like Robin, Matias, Kasper (any spellings), Elliot and Luca. Would Lauri be short for anything (e.g. Laurence)?

From girls, I like Susannah, Cora and Isla. I wouldn't have Anni spelt like that as a full name.

Susanna is a lovely name and Sue is very cute.

Yes, Anni, Lauri, Kasper, Matias are all names from my country, but we are going to live in the UK for the foreseeable future, so I think I'll do Anglicised version, like you suggest.

Yes, Isla is very popular, not very popular in my area in particular, but I like more individual names, not too unusual though (thing between top 30-80 or so).

Would you prefer Coraline (or would that make you think of the girl with the button eye thing- DS1 still hates that!), Coralie (kind of French) or Cora? DH says Coraline, I say Cora, if we end up having a girl, but are Stil debating. We have to name two puppies too, so are a bit named out at the mo hmm

Hmmm...I would spell some of them differently (unless they are the name of a beloved family member or something). Casper instead of Kasper, Annie instead of Anni, Matthias instead of Matias. I would put Laurence on the birth certificate and use Lauri as a nickname but spell it Laurie (in cards etc.).

Isla - top 10 name, too popular, going to be the Sharon/Tracy of its generation.

Casper - still feels a bit old fashioned to me, but is better than some of the wacky names kids get called these days.

All the rest - very nice tasteful names.

Love Leo, Theo and Caspar (spelled this way)

From the girls list I only like Cora

Love Leo,Finn,Elliot and Luca.

Only like Cora on your girls list.

RoastedCouchPotatoes Mon 19-Aug-13 19:26:20

Leo, Theo(dore), Robin, Finn(ian), Alexander, Lauri, Matias, Kasper, Elliot and Luca?

For girls: Susannah, Arianna, Cora, Anni, Isla, and Madeleine?

Am happy to be told you hate them btw! Just want opinions.
