I'm getting closer to settling on a name for a future dd. So which would you prefer? TIA

Iris Clementine is lovely

Ivy.

But only because I always find names that end with an S to be a little harsh-sounding. As well as being a bit unfortunate if little Iris or her friends have a lisp.

Iris - but I am a bit biased.

I love Clementine or Clementina.

Hate Ivy and Iris, both harsh names

Ivy Clementine - I love the names Ivy and Iris, but choosing Ivy was a visual thing for me. Green ivy looks much better next to an orange clementine than a purple iris!

Ivy

Ivy with Clementine very Christmassy.
Think Iris more unusual if that's important to you.

Hadn't thought about the Christmassy connections of Clementine....is it bad that it makes me like it more for my December due date ??

Iris Clementine. Iris is so much prettier than Ivy.

Mollie272 Tue 30-Jul-13 17:19:39

I prefer Iris I think - Clementine is a lovely name though, I'd be tempted to put it first.

Mumblyboo Tue 30-Jul-13 18:39:00

Poison ivy?? nuff said. Iris means rainbow which is pretty.

CajaDeLaMemoria Tue 30-Jul-13 18:39:47

I love Ivy Clementine.

I'd love to love Iris....but it just makes me think of eyeballs....

Ivy!

Iris is quite chic and it works well in a lot of languages.

Ivy in away due a revival with all the name ending in 'ee' sounds. It's just a bit harsh, maybe it's the poison Ivy connection.

ImaginaryHat Tue 30-Jul-13 19:30:52

Love both, but Ivy gets my vote

FingersCrossedLegsNot Tue 30-Jul-13 19:35:12

It had occurred to me that Ivy Clementine was quite Christmassy....though I quite like that actually! blush

niffernaffer Tue 30-Jul-13 19:39:43

Much prefer Iris Clementine.

telsa Tue 30-Jul-13 22:04:49

Ivy Clementine is soon much prettier and cooler.

Also Iris Clementine sounds like I Risk Clementine
