musing on a few names...

DC1 is due soon, and our long (and short) list of names is a paltry 2 for each

Just wondered if any of you folk could please give the thoughts you have associated with the following, along with any suggestions if you can think of anything else we might like.

Girl- Alice
Maya
(Middle name May/Mei) (already feel that Maya Mei is a little 'Deep South' so would probably be a Maya Alice)

Boy- Lucas
Rowan/ Rohan
Middle name David.

Hmm, I think Maya May or Maya Mei might well be over kill. Sorry. I would go with Maya Alice if those are the only two you can come up with. How about:
Maya Eve
Maya Katherine
Maya Louise
Maya Elise
Maya Charlotte
Maya Emily

As for boys, they are both nice. Prefer Lucas, but they both go well with David.

I like Maya Alice and Rowan David.

Lucas is nice too but much more popular and I've always thought of Alice as quite a weak first name so don't like it.

All lovely names, I would hesitate to put Maya with May or Mei though.

Saves a lot of anxiety when you can narrow it down to half a dozen names by the 8th month!

I'd go for Alice May or Rowan David from your list. I prefer May to Mei - May is my dd's middle name too.

Maya Alice is pretty but doesn't entirely flow? I think it's because of the final A followed by an initial A which seems to force a 'hitch' between the names. If you don't force that slight pause you end up with them slurring into one another with a sort of 'R' sound - Mayaralice.

Alice May works better from a euphonius perspective.

Lucas David is a great name. Rowan seems to becoming popular as a girl's name and I don't like Rohan because I know one who is an obnoxious opinionated so-and-so big I appreciate that's just my association!

Definitely Alice or Rowan.
If you do go with Maya though, Maya Alice is lovely - you're definitely right about Maya Mai :p
