I like the name Tabitha Jasmine but prefer the spelling Tabitha Jasmyn. Am I crazy? Honest opinions please....

Casmama Sat 20-Jul-13 21:20:20

Poncy, sorry

MumToOneMogwai Sat 20-Jul-13 21:20:36

it's beautiful spelt properly...why tinker with it?

PuggyMum Sat 20-Jul-13 21:30:49

I'm not a fan of tinkering with spellings.

But Jasmine is lovely.

QOD Sat 20-Jul-13 21:32:38

I don't mind it, I love the name but Jasmine is always read as Jas mine in my head. I like it without the e so Jasmin or Jasmyn is fine by me.
Middle name anyway so do what you want.
Adore Tabitha btw

ExcuseTypos Sat 20-Jul-13 21:33:17

Agree with everyone else.

Just leave the spelling as it is. Tabitha Jasmine is lovely.

FingersCrossedLegsNot Sat 20-Jul-13 21:39:19

Oh how euneek Hun
hmm x

Wbdn28 Sat 20-Jul-13 21:39:20

Leave the spelling as Jasmine.

Bunbaker Sat 20-Jul-13 21:43:53

Sorry, but any future teacher will think that she has thick or dyslexic parents, or ones that are trying too hard to be different.

Like some of the others I am not a fan of tinkering with spellings either. Besides, you will constantly have to correct other people's spelling of the name.

ThePieSmuggler Sat 20-Jul-13 21:46:58

Poncy in my opinion. Just looks naff spelt like that.

IwishIwasmoreorganised Sat 20-Jul-13 21:48:33

Don't mess with the spellings of names - what's the point?

PreciousPuddleduck Sat 20-Jul-13 21:49:32

Jasmine is much nicer

ExcuseTypos Sat 20-Jul-13 21:53:24

Bun I think that's rather harsh. I work n a school and the teachers I work with wouldn't be so judgemental.

fuckwittery Sat 20-Jul-13 21:54:07

Sorry, I don't think it is poncy spelling, quite the opposite! I would think chavvy.

vix206 Sat 20-Jul-13 21:55:16

I don't find it poncy but I don't like made up spellings and think Jasmine is a beautiful name as it is. smile

Not poncy - just a bit silly imho.

Smartiepants79 Sat 20-Jul-13 21:56:01

Silly spelling.

lemontwist Sat 20-Jul-13 21:56:16

Awful, sorry. The name is fine but I really dislike mis-spelt names. Also poor child would be constantly correcting people.

scottishmummy Sat 20-Jul-13 21:56:22

Why would you purposefully spell a name wrong
It's not quirky,it's not individual

BOF Sat 20-Jul-13 21:56:23

It's not poncey, it's just wrong.

ceramicunicorn Sat 20-Jul-13 21:57:55

Not poncy, chavvy. Lovely name when spelt correctly.

Oldandcobwebby Sat 20-Jul-13 22:09:01

Please don't spell your daughter's name incorrectly. Please. Stop it. Stop it now.

lucybrad Sat 20-Jul-13 22:42:43

and if we used Jayne - this would be the same thing then?

BOF Sat 20-Jul-13 22:45:19

No, because Jayne is an acceptable spelling.

scottishmummy Sat 20-Jul-13 22:45:40

What do you want honest opinion or argument with posters
Jayne is a minority but recognised spelling of Jane, expect still need to spell it
Jasmyn,it's a lifetime of no m-y-m.just cause you like different spellings
