For a boy?

You know, classical and all that, started the Trojan wars to kidnap Helen of Troy.
It's ok for a boy isn't it?

<<Can you tell i'm grasping at straws here>> wan smile

Looks like my fears have been confirmed.

Paris Hilton... Paris Jackson...?

Definitely not!

DonDrapersAltrEgoBigglesDraper Thu 18-Jul-13 10:22:10

I know a male Paris, in his 60s/70s. A very flamboyant architect, with 4 wildly-named children.

He can carry it off.

I suspect not too many boys/men, however, would thank you for the name. Paris Hilton has rendered it the worst sort of <whispers> c-word name out there, and that's for girls. Bestow it on a boy and you might as well start sourcing a good therapist for him now. wink

OhBuggerandArse Thu 18-Jul-13 10:32:39

And the classical Paris was a pretty bad lot, really.

What about Hector? Alexander?

reelingintheyears Thu 18-Jul-13 10:41:21

Not for me, DS1 and his GF.

Anyway, tis now redundant, 20 week scan this morning says a GUUUURRRRRLLLL

grin grin

I shall be Grannie to a girl.

DonDrapersAltrEgoBigglesDraper Thu 18-Jul-13 11:10:43

Ah, congrats! A girl, how lovely!

Dodged a bullet there. wink

reelingintheyears Thu 18-Jul-13 11:27:42

DonDraper exactly!

squoosh Thu 18-Jul-13 11:32:48

Girl, phew!

Paris for a boy is a bit blingtastic Eurotrash.

Bowlersarm Thu 18-Jul-13 11:35:37

Funnily enough, although it is irrelevant to you now, I think of Paris as a boys name because the first Paris I met was a teenage boy. He must be around 50 now.

BOF Thu 18-Jul-13 12:39:48

Dodged a bullet there then grin

I liked Paris for a boy actually, but hey...

Congrats smile

I know two male Paris's - one rather posh and one not. Funny, eh.

toni1bump Sat 20-Jul-13 14:37:27

thegreylady Sat 20-Jul-13 15:05:48

chilipeppers Sat 20-Jul-13 22:35:51

Awful for boy or girl!!

LadyMacbethWasMisunderstood Sun 21-Jul-13 12:24:48

It's a boys name. But still would have been a difficult choice.

In the Iliad, he's a bit of a drip. Hiding in the bedroom and letting others do the fighting. Even Helen doesn't seem to think that much of him.

LookingForwardToMarch Mon 22-Jul-13 15:36:59

Heard that screamed acros Aldi yesterday

'Oi Paris put it fucking down!!!'

Sounded less classic then.
