A bit 80's but quite classic and nice.

FoundAChopinLizt Tue 16-Jul-13 21:05:00

Love Robbie, Rob.

I'm biased because we've got one wink

StrawberrytallCAKE Tue 16-Jul-13 21:07:54

The only Rob I have met was an utter cunt, in the strongest sense of the word and I'm not apologising for it.

It's a no from me.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles Tue 16-Jul-13 21:16:24

Yes like it especially Rob.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles Tue 16-Jul-13 21:17:30

<Hopes fervently it wasn't the same person StrawberrytallCAKE knew>.

AberdeenAngusina Tue 16-Jul-13 21:22:19

Yes. I know a 16 year old and a 10 year old Robert and it suits them both. Not too common, easy to spell, choice of NNs. What's not to like?

StrawberrytallCAKE Tue 16-Jul-13 21:23:27

I doubt it donkeys unless he has a history of dv.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles Tue 16-Jul-13 21:26:23

God no; glad he's no longer blighting your life.

Bowlersarm Tue 16-Jul-13 21:26:32

Lovely name.

There was a thread about it a short while ago and I'm pretty sure it got the thumbs up.

I know a few across then ages of 18 down to 4. A classic name but not overused.

soontobeslendergirl Tue 16-Jul-13 23:33:40

Yup, I like it:

Robert the Bruce
Robert Louis Stevensen
Robert Mitchum
Robbie Williams
Bob the Builder
Like it more now I've thought of them :D

ArabellaBeaumaris Wed 17-Jul-13 07:03:02

Yes. Like it.

Yonihadtoask Wed 17-Jul-13 07:06:03

I love it.
My DS is a Robert.
Born late 90s.

Mostly known by full name. Not often shortened.

wintersdawn Wed 17-Jul-13 07:10:44

nicename but could become fairly common thanks to twilight and robert Pattinson - depends if that bothers you.

DonDrapersAltrEgoBigglesDraper Wed 17-Jul-13 08:26:59

It's pretty timeless, you know people of all ages, and throughout history called Robert.

It's gone through a bit of a lull recently, but it's a steady classic.

It's my Dad's name, he's in his 70s. I know people my age with it, and 20-year olds with it. Not many babies with the name, but in another 5 or 10 years it will probably pick up in popularity again.

Really like Robert.
Underused and classic.
Lots of options for NNS.

DramaAlpaca Wed 17-Jul-13 16:46:29

Lovely classic name.

Thumbs up from me.

It's a fab name, I love it.

LucyTheValiant Wed 17-Jul-13 16:54:19

My 'baby' brother is Robert, I chose it when he was born and I was 10. Much better than my other brother's suggestion of 'Baldy Cry Face' hmm

LucyTheValiant Wed 17-Jul-13 16:54:50

(Oops, meant to add that I think it's a lovely name and you should go for it!)
