I'd say for me, definitely Joseph.

Joseph/Joe is one of my very favourite names, but I'm not keen on Joshua/Josh at all.

I'm sure that others will come along with the opposite opinion soon :)

NowPlayingZone · 07/07/2013 21:47

Joseph 100%

Bowlersarm · 07/07/2013 21:48

Joseph-but only if you love Joe as well.

SilveryMoon · 07/07/2013 21:49

Joseph

ananikifo · 07/07/2013 21:49

Joshua! I just like it better than Joseph and I don't like Joe.

pygmy · 07/07/2013 21:49

Definitely Joseph.

ABitLesMis · 07/07/2013 21:50

Joseph for me. Really wanted to name DS2 (born last night) Joseph but DP wouldn't agree!!

cjel · 07/07/2013 21:51

my joseph is 29,but only joseph when i'm cross his great grandad and my cousin were also joe. love it!
I always wanted a joseph but the minute he was born he looked like joe!!!!

fluffywhitekittens · 07/07/2013 21:53

Joshua

chickabilla · 07/07/2013 21:54

Joseph. I have one and still love it. He's still Joseph not Joe at 6 years old but I don't mind Joe.

miffybun73 · 07/07/2013 21:56

ABitLesMis Congratulations !

Have you agreed on a name yet? DC1 is Daniel/Dan and if I then had a 2nd boy he was going to be Joseph/Joe.

DC2 is a girl called Emily :)

miffybun73 · 07/07/2013 21:57

ABitLesMis - got confused with my ** above.

atrcts · 07/07/2013 21:58

I was the same as you - I preferred Joseph and hubby preferred Joshua, but he's a month old now and I still cant get my head around Joshua!!!! It's hard to know if it's because its my second child (?feels like I should be calling him by first child's name?) or because the name isn't right.

Hubby now says I can choose, but I don't want to bulldoze over him as Joshua was his preference. Sometimes he agrees to anything for a peaceful life and I am always very careful to not be pushy - though often to a fault (being a walkover instead!), and all this sleep deprivation has made him unwilling to talk about it Hmm

I'd call and change the appointment tomorrow if I could get another slot - to buy us time - but they tell me they get booked up too quickly and we have just one more week left so probably wouldn't get an appointment Shock

If you really have no preference, can you choose between the shortened versions? Do you prefer Joe or Josh? Because even if you don't plan to shorten it, others will! Might help you decide Smile

bugsybill · 07/07/2013 22:28

I prefer joshua

PerchedOnMyPeddleStool · 07/07/2013 22:34

Joseph.

You will be glad you called him Joseph, I promise.

MyBoysAreFab · 07/07/2013 22:37

DS1 is Joseph/Joe. He is 13. I adore it!

IHeartKingThistle · 07/07/2013 22:39

Joseph all the way for me.

chickydoo · 07/07/2013 22:41

I have a Joseph. ' Joey' to his friends. 'Joseph ' to us. Joe to some.
Strong, kind, calm....perfect name!

LousThighBurn · 07/07/2013 22:43

Joseph! Although I do not like Joe very much as a nn. Congratulations to you both.

ZolaBuddleia · 07/07/2013 22:43

Joseph, definitely.

Devora · 07/07/2013 22:44

They're both lovely, but Joseph/Joe was my no. 1 choice if I had a boy (which I didn't).
