I love the name Daisy - DH hates it so we'll never use it Hmm

What names do you love that DP has vetoed?

God. EVERYTHING! We have 2 DS & both pregnancies were spent by me suggesting names and by DH saying "no". No suggestions of his own, mind. Helpful.

Sebastien & Hugo ("too posh")
Ezra, Caleb & Casper ("too Old Testament")
Iggy, Ziggy, Spike & Wolfie ("they're not names" - he had a point I guess)
Etienne ("we're not French")
Diggory ("not a chance")

Anjou, I feel your pain. I'm pg at the moment & DH hates all the names I love so I'm having to compromise to names I just 'like' :(

Vetoed girls names:
Emerald
Autumn
Odette
Lisette

Vetoed boys names:
Jasper
Julian

He hates Henry which is my favourite boys name ever and Arthur he vetoed.
Girls names he didn't like- Francesca, Ivy, Edith, Elsie, Betsy, Josephine all too old fashioned

Linus and August.

He says any kids of ours are bound to be odd enough without names like that to burden them. Yet suggests stuff like Ohm, Watt and Volt himself... Confused

Atticus - I love it, DH hates it. Fortunately we're having a girl so have agreed to disagree.

weebarra · 07/07/2013 10:01

Almost all girls' names. We can't really agree at all.
I really like Astrid and Matilda but they have been vetoed.

Wishfulmakeupping · 07/07/2013 10:05

Should have added that we did agree on a lovely name in the end that doesn't feel like a compromise

Girls
Ianthe
Agatha
Edith
Iris
Niamh

Boys
Arthur is the only one that sticks out
but we never agreed on ANY boys names so the list for that would be endless. It's a good job we had girls :)

Isisisis - we really love Atticus as well, but not brave enough to choose it.
I also really love Orson and Malachi but both have been vetoed :(

Luckily I'm not even pregnant - so we have some time to agree on names!

DH is an awkward bugger. Likes simple short names - Jess, Jane, Kate, Nell. I suggested Jack for a boy, however, and got Hmm face. So I really dont know his taste.

I love Evelyn he hates it.
I love Lilian he hates it.

He fails to suggest any names though!

HotCrossPun · 07/07/2013 11:48

All of the names I have suggested he doesn't like Grin

Flora
Florance
Annabelle
Arianna
Alice
Daisy
Anabella
Lavender

He likes:

Gracie

Ah well, at least we've got 8 months to decide!

We had twins and kept the genders a surprise til arrival. Agreed totally on boys names and v easily made a top 6 list we both loved.
Girls names was a nightmare. He hated pretty much everything I suggested (but not much good with suggesting alternatives): Harriet, Felicity, Lydia, Annabel, Elizabeth, Laura, Flora, Anna, Merryn, Elowen, Tamsin, Zara, Zinnia, Elise, Louisa, Juliet etc etc. It was a nightmare picking a girl list.

Roxanne ("Red light").
Miranda ("Not very real world, is it").
Sophie ("Sofa").
Heidi ("Seriously?").
