Which spelling. She would be known as Milly/Millie to the family.

I personally love Emilie, but I feel the majority on here will prefer Emily!

Millie is one of my favourite names.

Emily, I misread Emilie as Emile, and would assume a boy.

Why on earth would you spell a name in a way that will mean she will have to correct people all her life? Everyone will assume Emily.

Emily.

If you want to call her Milly use that, or Millicent, with the nn Milly.

But I do like Emily, Milly, , and Millicent.

Emilie is French. Assuming you are not French/in France, use Emily.

Ihatepeas · 23/06/2013 19:17

Emily. She will be forever correcting people otherwise.
Gorgeous name.. love it shortened to Milly!

Emily.

Makes life easier to go with the standard spelling of the country you live in.

I'd use Emilie but my family are French (I'm therefore used to having to explain/spell out my own name all the time too)...in fact that was our main contender for DD2 but DH's cousin had an Amelia a few months ahead of us and we thought that would be too close.

Emily, unless you live in a Francophone country. And why shorten it to Milly? Emily is a much nicer name!

Emily - but if you want to call her Milly, why not just call her Milly and not have the 'formal' name of Emily? ...though, like a couple of others, I prefer Emily anyway.

Emily- if you live in UK.

I have an Emily nn Milly I'm obviously biased but really dislike your alternative spelling.

Another with an Emily. She has no problem with people spelling her name.

I'm glad I took leave of my senses, my 21 year old self wanted to call her Emmie- Leigh.

Emily.

Emilie looks too much like the (less commonly used) boys name Emile.
