She is due in Oct and i can't decide :( it's my first baby and I didn't realise naming her would be so difficult. So far I have;

Heidi
Fleur
Evie
Amber
Frankie
Sadie

I've been playing with middle names too and at the moment have;

Heidi Kate
Fleur Autumn (OH favourite and has been since day 1)
Evie Fawn
Sadie Rose

I'm stuck! Which is your favourite? Opinions would be much appreciated!!

I really like Fleur and Sadie from your list though not keen on Rose for a middle name. If you like Autumn then Sadie Autumn is nice.

Sadie is lovely and my favourite from your list.
I like Heidi too though, it's pretty and strong at the same time.
Actually I really like Amber too but it will be slagged off on mn. Frankie is yuck imo sorry. Fleur YAKKK sorry. Evie is pretty but there are a lot of them now.

I like Heidi , I would choose it for a future daughter but already have one in the family. I think it's very rare and lovely

I know one Heidi, she's in her fifties, is very lovely but is dark haired and quite large, if ever a name didn't suit a person it's her.

From your list I like Evie Kate. Good luck!

They're all a bit girly, iyswim. Do you want her to have a strong name? Because I don't think those are...

I love Amber and Heidi

No I definitely prefer girly names to 'strong' names. I always thought my name was very un-feminine and didn't like it much. Thanks for your thoughts so far, much better than revealing my names to my thieving bunch of friends haha

The only one I really don't like very much is Fleur, sorry, no reason just my opinion.

I particularly like Frankie, Sadie and Heidi.

I like Autumn, Rose and Fawn as middle names. Maybe you could use other 'nature' names as middle names as well. Like Pearl, Ruby, Silver, Willow, Clover, Violet, Dove, Ivy or Wren.

Congratulations Babel! Naming can be a little stressful (if the daddy is anything like my DH & hates all your suggestions but has none of his own Grin), but is also loads of fun.

From your list I really like Heidi, Fleur, Amber & Sadie. They're to my taste (Frankie isn't just because of that song in the eighties, and Evie is nice but just too, too overused in my neck of the woods) but I also think they're strong, classic and suit from birth to old age. That's my tip tip by the way; try the following sentences with your choice of name to see if you can imagine using it for years to come... "This is my baby, xxx", "xxx, get down from there", "xxx, you're late for school", "xxx, get a job!" Worked for me!

Your middle names all go with your first names with perhaps the exception of Kate. You will get people on MN saying "oh not Rose again". It IS popular as a middle name but I guess that's because it's pretty and goes with everything. I think people are right when they say it'll be the 'Anne', 'Louise' or 'Jane' of our times though.

Sorry, I'm totally waffling. In short, I like the following combos (couple of suggestions tucked in there too) ..

Heidi Rose/Autumn
Sadie Rose/Fleur/Grey
Amber Rose
Fleur Sylvie
Sylvie Grey

Good luck! Smile

I like Sadie, Amber and Heidi from your list, in that order....Every other girl is called Evie and Fleur is bleurgh! Frankie is great too but would be better as a nn - what about Frances, with the nn Frankie? I personally adore the name Frances but it may not be your cup of tea. good luck!

I like Heidi & sadie

Heidi - like
Fleur - hate, sounds like blurgh
Evie - too cutesy and popular
Amber - nice
Frankie - great as nn for Francesca, not as a standalone name as it wouldn't give her a feminine option.
Sadie - it's ok

Good luck!

Heidi, Evie, Amber and Sadie are nice. Another to consider if you like Sadie is Saskia. I like Francesca but not Frankie as a nn.

October is ages away so don't stress out. Keep adding/deleting from your short list and wait and see what she looks like when she arrives.

Fleur is beautiful. Simple, classy and not overused. I know one Fleur and she is delightful.

I like Evie the best but as said, it is very popular. I wouldn't be as keen on Amber or Frankie. I like Frances though.

Probably Sadie - Sadie Rose would be lovely.

Go with what you like yourself though. Best of luck..

I like autumn as a first name.

Fleur is good but not sure about it with Autumn as a middle name.
Bugsybill mentioned Dove as a idle name. I know an Eleanor Dove and thought it was the most beautiful pairing although she is lucky and Dove is her surname. Your surname is important in the name game as the whole lot needs to sound right.
Other names you might like
Alice May
Heidi May
Laurel
Bryony
Tess

Evie and Amber are both lovely names. Evie is very popular so I'd go for Amber.

What about Flora rather than Fleur?

My favourite from your list is Heidi.

You know you still have a good few months though, right, no real rush. I was still leafong through the name books while in labour in the bath Grin

I love Rose as a first name but not.as a MN. Same with Jane. Love as a FN, dont like as a MN. What about Alice?

Frankie is a boys name. Short for Francesca perhaps?

If Fleur Autumn is one of your choices, and is your OH's favourite, I would pick that.
