What do you think of these names? Lucas is DP's suggestion, Theo is mine. Which do you prefer? If neither any suggestions please? Thanks smile smile

Theo! (Another biased poster. Mine is a Theodore though.) It's an awesome name. I think it's going to rise even further up the charts though, akin to Leo. Lucas is really popular at the moment as well. Both lovely names.

And DH and I despise football.

I love Theo!

Much prefer Theo, dislike Lucas.

MollyBerry Wed 26-Jun-13 22:43:22

Both are nice but good choice using both smile

Both nice.
Lucas has a bit more staying power, think you made right decision!

Sorry... I've just seen that you've chosen Lucas blush.

Not keen on Lucas, but love Theo.

I wouldn't have linked it with football at all, despite the fact that I am forced to endure the game by the menfolk of my family.

Thanks for all your comments. Think we have decided on Lucas with Theo as a middle name. As much as I love Theo my main concern would be people pronouncing it incorrectly as 'Feo'.

MaryAnnSingleton Mon 17-Jun-13 07:54:51

yep, Theo is a full name in it's own right, agree there. My Theo used to go to La Jolie Ronde where the teacher would pronounce it the French way, which was very sweet.

sorry, can't stand Lucas, it whenever I see it or hear it all I can think of is mucous

Theo. not footbally at all, there's one footballer called this I can think of. Lovely name. Full name in its own right, strong and classic.

Ham69 Mon 17-Jun-13 07:22:40

Theo <biased>. I think it sounds perfectly formal on its own and never thought of it as 'nicknamey', 'faddy', 'footbally', etc. Theo Paphitis seems to have done ok and been taken seriously enough. And it was Vincent Van Gogh's brother's name (he chose to be called this though I think his name was Theodorus).

LittleDonkeyKong Sun 16-Jun-13 23:03:16

My top 2 names if I ever have a DS I prefer Lucas but only slightly smile

rootypig Sun 16-Jun-13 22:56:00

Ha, I know 8mo twins called this. No help, just wanted to chip in smile

Nimthenamechanger Sun 16-Jun-13 22:55:24

I like Lucas more than Theo as Theo does sound like a little bit nicknamey. However, if you're bothered about teasing potential, a Lucas I know would probably want me to point out that his name rhymes with mucousconfused
Lucian or Lucius?

feckawwf Sun 16-Jun-13 22:52:50

Love them both but prefer Lucas. Or you could go for a bit of both and have Leo-my ds name wink

Barbarashop Sun 16-Jun-13 22:50:09

I have a Lucas and a Theo! Even though I chose Lucas first, I actually prefer Theo.

kanx1976 Sun 16-Jun-13 22:47:22

Lucas is a good portuguese / brazilian name... Theo is also a great name.

bugsybill Sun 16-Jun-13 22:34:40

Both are nice. Make you decision based on how it goes with your middle name and surname.
