I know 3 lovely Susies, both down to earth but terribly nice and wholesome. This makes me love the name and it's top of our list.
But is it a bit old fashioned, like a Sandra or a Jean?

Retro. I like it!

ThoraNomiki Fri 14-Jun-13 14:12:08

It's a very sweet name. Would it be short for Susanna? Susanna is lovely.

The name doesn't feel dated the same way as Sandra or Jean do, imo.

I like it - and if when she hits her teens she doesn't like 'nice and wholesome' she could become a Siouxie grin

Like it, although because I have a 3 year old whenever I hear Susie I think Suzy Sheep (from peppa pig).

willyoulistentome Fri 14-Jun-13 14:24:03

It's fab!!

Elquota Fri 14-Jun-13 14:38:17

I like it.

Love the name along with Maggie, should make a come back I think!

Love love love it...

GingerCurry Fri 14-Jun-13 14:48:47

I really like susie or suzie.
I think I prefer Suzie better having written them down.

Suzieismyname Fri 14-Jun-13 14:58:30

baby Susie

StyleManual Fri 14-Jun-13 14:59:09

Ooh, positive feedback. Thank you! I think baby would just be a Susie, rather than a Susanne or Susanna, as DH is not keen on those.

Our second choice is Juliet/Julia BTW.

I much prefer your second choice if you're not going to put a longer version of Suzie on the birth certificate.

AtWhatPointIsItWrong Fri 14-Jun-13 15:29:50

I really like it. Suzanne is not ready to come back yet. I prefer Susie /Susan to Suzy/Suzanne.

Juliet is a lovely name too.

AtWhatPointIsItWrong Fri 14-Jun-13 15:31:20

Love Maggie too!

mosuzu Fri 14-Jun-13 21:42:16

It is a bit old fashioned (late 70's/early 80's) but I think could be dragged into the cool if you spelt it Siouxie.

BlueChampagne Fri 14-Jun-13 22:51:37

I think it's great but would go with a longer version on birth certificate personally, even if you never use it.

TickleMyTitsTillFriday Sat 15-Jun-13 08:44:14

I'm not massively keen on it as a name on its own.
Love Susannah though, why am I not called that?!

hokeycakey Sat 15-Jun-13 08:53:40

I'm an early eighties suzie shortened from Susanna no one ever calls me my full name I do like suzie the most as a shortened version but other people call me Sanna or Suze I think it's very nice & poss underused at the moment

aftermay Sat 15-Jun-13 09:06:14

I like Suzie and Julia.

Not ready for Maggie yet (because of Thatcher, I'm sure others will have different reasons).

monkeyfacegrace Sat 15-Jun-13 09:09:48

Suzannah is on the list if I have another DD.

Its the only name me and DH can agree on.

If they dont like it, they can be Suzie, Sanna, Anna etc.

TheYamiOfYawn Sat 15-Jun-13 09:12:04

I like it as a nickname, but would go with a longer official name.

TheMagicKeyCanFuckOff Sat 15-Jun-13 17:20:09

I have a Susie smile It's short for Susannah.

I think Suzie works well for girls and Susannah also good when more grown up.
