It's a gorgeous name but I think of LOTR every time I hear it.

Lord of the Rings fan.

dementedma Wed 12-Jun-13 20:50:28

He has a son called Reuben. He is a LOTR fan and his wife wouldn't let him call Ds Aragorn!

ClaraOswald Wed 12-Jun-13 20:51:14

Thank goodness for that!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie Wed 12-Jun-13 20:51:24

Fine - I would think he was a fan of LOTR. Have heard much worse.

cherhorowitz Wed 12-Jun-13 20:59:25

Gorgeous name. I do think LOTR but still beautiful

Elquota Wed 12-Jun-13 22:06:50

It's nice.

flatmum Wed 12-Jun-13 22:15:37

I think it's a really nice name. The LOTR associations will have died down by the time she's at school

SleepyCatOnTheMat Wed 12-Jun-13 22:45:27

Not so sure about that flatmum, what with it being a classic book. But agree it's a pleasant name.

Fifi2406 Thu 13-Jun-13 00:22:44

MadeOfStarDust Thu 13-Jun-13 08:11:03

We are over near the Welsh border and there are lots of Arwens.... Some are just Arwen, some use it as a diminutive for Arrianwen so here Welsh origins would be my first thought - then LOTR

GibberTheMonkey Thu 13-Jun-13 08:49:01

Are they dark? Because in the welsh it means fair or similar

squoosh Thu 13-Jun-13 11:23:33

I don't like it at all, sorry. It's a bit lumpen.
