How is kaelon for a boy name?

SoupDragon Mon 03-Jun-13 10:23:44

Hideous IMO.

showtunesgirl Mon 03-Jun-13 10:24:54

My first reaction was: huh? hmm

AuntieStella Mon 03-Jun-13 10:26:22

How is it pronounced?

I've not come across it before, and don't take to it (looks like the name of a 1960s man-made fabric).

BarbieDahl Mon 03-Jun-13 10:27:00

What soupdragon said

EuroShaggleton Mon 03-Jun-13 10:27:29

Please don't...

wigglesrock Mon 03-Jun-13 10:34:49

Is it a strange spelling of Caolan? or am I saying it completely wrong?

Catbert4pm Mon 03-Jun-13 10:39:35

Are you a Trekkie?!

AnneEyhtMeyer Mon 03-Jun-13 10:41:09

Agree with AuntieStella.

Bowlersarm Mon 03-Jun-13 10:42:52

ImTooHecsyForYourParty Mon 03-Jun-13 10:47:55

That's from star trek, isn't it?

ImTooHecsyForYourParty Mon 03-Jun-13 10:49:31

yes, I thought it is. Click here

I probably wouldn't use it, tbh.

ItsYonliMe Mon 03-Jun-13 10:50:33

Agree with Stella...sounds like a fabric

seeker Mon 03-Jun-13 10:50:55

YoniMontana Mon 03-Jun-13 10:54:53

Ridiculous.

mamalovesmojitos Mon 03-Jun-13 11:09:04

Terrible.

Ham69 Mon 03-Jun-13 11:40:27

Horrible.

Fragglewump Mon 03-Jun-13 11:43:29

On the upside there probably will only be one in his class school and lifetime

farmersdaughter Mon 03-Jun-13 11:45:40

My first thought was it sounds like something you put in your dishwasher to remove the lime scale!

Scruffey Mon 03-Jun-13 11:47:49

No.

Badvoc Mon 03-Jun-13 11:50:05

Awful.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss Mon 03-Jun-13 11:52:57

Fucking hell! Poor kid! Is he actually from Krypton? grin

Hedwig3 Mon 03-Jun-13 12:52:55

I know a little girl called Kaelin and a little boy called Kaelen.

Pronounced Kay-lin and Kay-lun.

When she was born Kaelin's mummy's MIL commented "Oh, like the medicine kaolin and morphine?"

spiderlight Mon 03-Jun-13 12:56:53

I know a lovely little Caelan and variations on the name do seem to be becoming quite popular, but the Kaelon spelling just looks a bit made-up and awkward, sorry.

nenevomito Mon 03-Jun-13 12:58:28

It depends on whether you are writing a Sci-Fi novel, or planning to name your child.

If the former, its fab. If the latter, can't say I would.
