I don't like Wilbur, Wilfred, William or Wilbert - it's the Wil part that is too close to Willy blush.

OrlaKiely Wed 22-May-13 10:36:51

I have got a wilberforce and I call him this.

kelda Wed 22-May-13 10:34:33

Yes Wilbur and Wilfred are both great, but Wilbert just doesn't work so well.

olivertheoctopus Tue 21-May-13 20:55:20

Nope. Wilbur is very very very cool (on list but DH is having none of it plus BIL is Will). Wilfred also equally as cool.

usualsuspect Tue 21-May-13 20:41:54

Its horrible.

Oriunda Tue 21-May-13 19:58:22

Still think Cosmo better (well I would, wouldn't I, having one myself!) but I do like Wilbur (NOT Wilbert which I have never heard of). There is one in my son's nursery and he is gorgeous.

JojoMags Tue 21-May-13 19:39:04

Haha. I have a Wilfrid and a Robert, but even to someone with form like mine Wilbert is dreadful!

SleepyCatOnTheMat Tue 21-May-13 18:17:51

I second Wilbur - love that name. Arthur has made a comeback so why not Wilbur?

kelda Tue 21-May-13 15:46:51

Wilbur is better.

TheRealFellatio Tue 21-May-13 15:45:18

It sounds very wet.

pygmy Tue 21-May-13 15:44:39

Ok, point taken! smile

SilverOldie Tue 21-May-13 15:32:38

Wilbert is a silly name - go with Cosmo, it's fab.

MadBusLady Tue 21-May-13 15:15:28

Also makes me think of Dilbert, but that probably won't be a thing for the generation born now. Although Dilbert is kind of timeless so you can't rely on that...

MadBusLady Tue 21-May-13 15:12:03

No. Sounds like a goldfish. I think Albert is lovely though so maybe I am not very consistent on this.

poppydaisy Tue 21-May-13 14:59:38

Both parts of the name aren't great - Wil/Willy or Bert!

Cosmo is SO much nicer and cooler!

GoodbyePorkPie Tue 21-May-13 14:38:53

pygmy, no! I already told you on your other thread to go with Cosmo!

Onesleeptillwembley Tue 21-May-13 14:36:32

I don't have words strong enough for how bad it is. It even makes Klay look er well not good exactly, but less bad.

BedHog Tue 21-May-13 14:29:16

Isn't it slang for being a bit stupid?

pygmy Tue 21-May-13 14:25:03

I've just discovered the name Wilbert and I think I love it. What do you think?
