There was an Irish Phoebe who moved to the USA with her mum and sisters in 2009 and died after being bulled.

I'm in NI and don't know or know of a single one :-) None in my dds primary school, none in baby group. Just double checked with husband and he doesn't know a single one either grin

burberryqueen its mad to think of Phoebe being used back 120 years ago in Ireland. Although I know it's a very old name, it just seems it only became widely "known" since the explosion of friends. It's a lovely name to have in the family tree!

I don't know any Phoebes, of any age, in Ireland. Definitely not as popular here as across the water.

How do you think it would be perceived in Ireland? smile

AThingInYourLife Tue 21-May-13 19:44:01

As I said, I know an adult Phoebe and a child Phoebe, and I think it's just perceived as their uncomm

Sorry

Their uncommon, but well-known, easy to spell, easy to say name.

It's a nice name and very few people would be unfamiliar with it.
