There's one in DDs preschool who keeps scratching and hurting her. So to me it is a nasty, vicious bully name. Sorry. Probably there are some nice ones about too.

It just sounds so clunky, as if the two syllables don't match in any way.

It's a Hebrew name meaning "he who descended" (from the root yud resh daled, meaning descent). I like it.

well he was 5. no doubt he is now someone's dh. will ask for it to be removed.

Catlike Mon 29-Apr-13 15:15:14

I think I like it.

Ruby bit bitchy of you to put the boy's surname in your post, especially as it's quite an unusual one.

Naughty boy's name. It's the modern version of Darren (to me). Sorry!

I know a Jared from York. Sister is Abigail. Don't love or hate either name tbh.

JoInScotland Sun 28-Apr-13 22:22:48

I went to school with loads of Jareds! Must have been something in the water of the Pacific Northwest 40 years ago....

I was in school with a Jared and then there was David Bowie in Labyrinth followed by Toadie in Neighbours- the only 3 I have ever heard of.

I really like the name, it's unusual without being too out-there.

OrangeFootedScrubfowl Sun 28-Apr-13 17:54:50

I don't think I like it particularly.

Littlecherublegs Sun 28-Apr-13 15:11:19
