OH & I have found the only name we can really agree on for our little girl & is accepted by the people that matter to us to be Macy. She will be a Macy June L...(uncommon 3 syllable surname). Any thoughts on this, nice or otherwise? Anything I haven't spotted with problematic initials or possible nicknames?

Macy is a great dog owned by a couple of pals.

Macy Gray has a cracking voice.

Macy just doesn't seem like a proper name to me.

Common and not as in lots of people are called it.

I know a Marcy. She's cute, but naughty.
Macy Grey?

Doesn't do it for me, I'm afraid, not keen on Madison, Kasey, Lacey etc and it feels like part of that group to me. But it scans well and I can't see any obvious howlers regarding initials!

It was our number 1 girls name choice for ds1 7 years ago, glad we had a boy because although i loved it then, i don't like it much now but i still love ds1's boys name choice.
It didn't make our list for ds2 (if he'd of been a girl).

But if you like it, go for it.

I don't see anything wrong with the initials, if you like the name and your DH likes the name that is all that matters. Congrats.

I really dislike the name tbh.

I agree with Zola's analysis.

I think calling someones name choice 'chavvy American' is rude.

I LOVE Marnie! Love that it's a derivative of Marina, so means sea, and it feels v 60s. Unfortunate Hitchcock connection.

Don't like it. Fees a bit "c" word. Plus I'm in the States atm and there's one on every high street!

I teach a Macy and a Maisy and they mishear each other's name all the time. I prefer Maisy as Macy is a bit American.
