What if Samson turned out to be a bit weedy? It's one of those names that sets expectations Grin

Joseph is the nicest out of your options. Don't like Jonah and have never heard of Eben, might confuse people with Eden?

I only like Samuel from your list. The others are too overtly religious for me.

I love Caleb, Jonah and Samuel. Eben I'm unfamiliar with, I agree pronunication might be a problem.

Nooooooo nooo noo to Jonah. NO. Step away from that. Eben looks like a typo. Is it? If not, would it be pronounced Eeeeeeben, or Ebbben? I suppose he could be Frightfully Cool in a Fonz kind of way when he's older and refer to himself as Ebbie Baybeeee whilst combing his fringe back.

No. Best not.

Joseph, Samuel, Samson and Caleb rock.

I like Jonah. What about Josiah (Joss for short).

I like Jonah and Joseph. I also like Jonas.

Not so keen on the others, but they're not awful.

Joseph and Samuel lovely, were on our shortlist but we went with another biblical name. Never heard of Eben.

Go with whichever you like the sound of best when shortened (it will happen whether you want it to or not) and whatever goes best with your surname.

"noblegiraffe" ha, we hadn't thought of us. And the only muscle in our household is he one in a bottle that cleans our kitchen worktops. Good spot

purrpurr :) Not a typo. It's in a name book and everything! I heard it on American Idol, there was a boy with a very sweet voice and he was called Eben. They pronounced it how you would pronounce the start of the name Ebeneezer (or though that in itself might put people off more) . But Ebbie Baybee might just stick

I just re-watched the clip of the kid called Eben. Steve Tyler said he had a cool name- but then didn't he choose Taj Monroe for his?
