I hate the name Karen, but I have an awful auntie named that so that's probably why.

I do like Pamela.

I like them too.
Think there will be a revival before long. I like Louise, Anna, Claire, Jennie, Rebecca.
Maybe dated, but think they sound great without being either pretentious or 'chavy' ( sorry I know a hated MN word)

What about Dean, Lee, Trevor, Gavin, Grant, Darren, Wayne, and Bruce? They were all very popular 40 - 50 years ago.

I like Karen, and Claire, but not together I'm afraid. I think all the c's and K's in Karen Claire Corbett is a bit of a mouthful. Karen Louise Corbett (just as an example) would flow more easily.

I love Barbara, but have taken it off my list because seems odd to think of a baby called that. Maybe one generation about Claire. I also like Sarah.

I like names like Josephine and Francesca and dislike names like Karen, Claire, Sarah, Louise etc again possibly because they were popular in my youth!

Doris is surely due for a revival. I wanted Eric for my DS and was not allowed.

My 8 yr old has friends called Sarah, Anna, Jenny & Rebecca.
I don't think these ever date.

I know babies born last year called Anna, Kirsten and Fiona, and one the year before called Kirsty, so I do think they are occasionally still used. I know a baby Stuart which I suppose is a boy equivalent.

I'm always amazed that people see Sarah as dated. I know it was quite popular in the 1970's and 80's but to me it is just absolutely classic, Biblical and beautiful. Same with Rebecca. Sharon and Tracey on the other hand are quite 'of their time' Smile

Names go in and out of fashion. I called DD Anna (a name I always liked) a couple of years ago and didn't think that it was in fashion, only to discover that there are 3 others with that name in her pre-school!

Before DD was born, we stayed in an old castle hotel in Bavaria with 19th century photos of big, stern looking of the previous owners/families on the wall. Half of them were called Anna!

I suggest you just go with what you like.
