Elliot Rose. What do you think of this name for a girl? Also would you use 2 t's and 2 l's?

BlueChampagne Thu 11-Apr-13 12:39:56

I would assume Elliot was a boy.

HappyJoyful Thu 11-Apr-13 12:41:19

I would assume Elliot was a boy too

GooseEnthusiast Thu 11-Apr-13 12:45:56

I like it smile

FreedomOfTheTess Thu 11-Apr-13 12:48:19

Elliott is a boy's name.

lollypopsicle Thu 11-Apr-13 13:05:31

I like it. However, be prepared for the possibility of people taking the liberty of calling her 'elly-rose' as a nn. We are thinking of a similar first name and are avoiding Rose, Jane and May as middle names for this reason.

harleyd Thu 11-Apr-13 13:06:44

i like it

givemeaclue Thu 11-Apr-13 13:07:46

Boy name!

AssamAndDarjeeling Thu 11-Apr-13 13:08:22

No, sorry. It's a boy's name!

What about Eleanor instead?

Startail Thu 11-Apr-13 13:12:41

I'd go for Ella Rose or Elen Rose.
The only Elliot I know is a little boy and Elliot so totally suits him I'd have difficulty thinking of it as a girls name.

seeker Thu 11-Apr-13 13:13:51

Give the poor child a girl's name.

seeker Thu 11-Apr-13 13:14:31

Unless it is a boy, obviously, in which case the Rose bit is A Very Bad Idea.

I think it's lovely and is the kind of name I would choose for my hypothetical second dd.

iloveweetos Thu 11-Apr-13 13:42:38

I love the name Ella Rose!
agree Elliott sounds like a boys name - but i would spell it as Elliott

Offcolour Thu 11-Apr-13 16:30:16

Elliot is a boys name and seems very incongruous with a pretty name like Rose.

What about:
Ellen Rose
Ella Rose
Eloise Rose
Louisa Rose

thermalsinapril Thu 11-Apr-13 17:00:06

Boy's name, sorry.

Dinosaurdrip Fri 12-Apr-13 08:09:59

I think Elliot is a beautiful unisex name.

Ilovecheeseandlovinglife Fri 12-Apr-13 08:12:56

Lovely for a girl smile I have a classically boys name and love it. X

Dinosaurdrip Fri 12-Apr-13 08:13:09

I also think that using rose as a middle name is lovely. We called our DD Dylan Emily and I think that's beautiful too although a lot of people on here disagree but each to their own.

thistlelicker Fri 12-Apr-13 08:17:14

Why would anybody consider a boys name for a girl or even a girls name
For a
Boy? I know we live In a world where peculiar things happen but doesn't this just set said child up for being teased..... Say for chance u did name girl Elliot and there was also a boy with same name, how
Do u explain it?

seeker Fri 12-Apr-13 08:29:28

People do it because they think their preference is more important than their child's possible discomfort. There is no other explanation. It makes me cross.

Dinosaurdrip Fri 12-Apr-13 08:33:05

As a posed to some of the other random names out there? You explain that the name is UNISEX and so can therefor be either.
