I had a massive long list, I've managed to shorten it down to these, but now I'd quite like some more to add grin opinions on these are welcome too.

Current DC are Sky and Arlo.

Atticus (nn Kit)

Hester (hetty)

Frikadellen Sat 13-Apr-13 13:04:36

I adore Otis and dont mind Percival or Elmer
Nell is cute

The rest a not what I would use. Imo Betsy ans Etta are up and coming ( I workewith babies and have seen a few recently) if that matters perhaps rethink

FriggFRIGG Sat 13-Apr-13 09:16:30

Juniper and Romy have been on my list before,I like them a lot,I might put them back on.

Demelza is gorgeous but I don't think it sits well with the other DC names...

FriggFRIGG Sat 13-Apr-13 08:54:24

Err, Atticus, not Attifus, that would be very odd.

FriggFRIGG Sat 13-Apr-13 08:53:05

I love Hero,but it's not quite right...

I LOVE Attifus/Kit and I'm pretty set on it grin

I need more inspiration for girls names I think, but I've looked at/considered so many I'm not sure there are any left...

forgetmenots Fri 12-Apr-13 23:09:11

Meredith for your girls' list? Also love Hero, which might fit?

Think Atticus/Kit has really grown on me and it works with your other two names. Really still not keen on Artemis - like Nell, Betsy, Odette, Merryn.

SilverBirdie Fri 12-Apr-13 20:19:10

Oh... Comes out top if you put it in search.
I was thinking about Kit/Atticus again today....... Totally doesn't matter that its not an abbreviation nn iykwim. Like Libby isn't to Elizabeth or Daisy/Peggy to Margaret or like the Sid I knew who was actually Richard grin

FriggFRIGG Fri 12-Apr-13 20:13:46

I'd love too grin but I can't find it..

SilverBirdie Fri 12-Apr-13 19:40:30

friggFRIGG you're so good at these lists and suggestions..... Hope over to my thread 'Edith or Sylvie' and give us some help pleeeeease. Feel the need for a couple more as we can't agree flowers

FriggFRIGG Thu 11-Apr-13 14:53:47

<waves at beady>

Matilda is DD's MN (and would have been her 1st name if it had been entirely up to me.)

Atticus/kit is almost certain now,I really love it. grin
And it's great to hear people think it 'goes' okay with the other two.

Still unsure on the girls names though...all the suggestions so far have either been on the list before and taken off for various reasons,or I'm really not keen on...

I think I might've run out of names to consider hmm

Willow36 Thu 11-Apr-13 11:50:58

We have totally different tastes in names but I'm putting my two-pennies worth in anyway grin

Atticus (nn Kit) - nice but I'm not sure kit works as a nn
Idris - No
Otis - Like
Pasco - No
Fenn - I have never heard of this name before
Jude - my number one without a doubt.
Percival - No
Rufus - I quite like Rufus
Corin - Too girly
Elmer - Fudd.

Artemis - Too "out there" for me
Merewyn - No
Odette - Gorgeous
Etta - Doesn't feel "enough" of a name if that makes sense
Betsy - Too cutesy, doesn't work with your others
Nell - Love
Agatha - No
Vita - No
Merryn - Nice
Myrtle - Awful
Mildred - Hubble
Hester (hetty) - No

Other suggestions would be Matilda, Verity, Darcey, Brooke, Willow, Summer for girls

and Finn, Nathaniel (Nate), Lyndon, Jonas for boys

From your boys list I like Jude. But we share similar taste in girls names, my dd2 is Hetty and we have Nell, Betsy and Mildred on short list for DC3.

Kerazeee Wed 10-Apr-13 23:52:53

I love Otis and quite like Jude. Atticus is fab but you'd have to beoretty brave! Not keen on your other boys names. Fenn is hideous.

Etta is a fabulous name. Cannot believe it isnt more popular. I like Betsy and Nell too, but would want them to be short for Elizabeth or Helena/Penelope. Mildred and Myrtle are beyond awful.

Some suggestions:

Augustus / Gus
Hugo / Hugh / Hughie

Bess or Bessie

WorkWankWail Wed 10-Apr-13 22:32:12

Love Odette. That's from Swan Lake, isn't it? Like corin from your boy's list.

FriggFRIGG Wed 10-Apr-13 22:29:24

Mabel will be the 2nd MN if it's a girl grin

I think the those names would be brilliant for triplets!

I love Myrtle, but I'm not sure DP would go for it...

So No to Percival,Elmer and Mildred sad

But none of the others have had particularly bad reactions...Interesting....

lottiegarbanzo Wed 10-Apr-13 22:24:38

Not Elmer, Prcival or Mildred, please.

I find Pasco, Betsy and Nell odd (these two fine as nn) but the rest of your boy names are great and girl ones perfectly good, just your taste a little different from mine.

I joked about Myrtle when pg, I like but wouldn't really use it. I like the link to heather moorland (where it grows) and wouldn't use Heather or Erica. Now I joke about having triplets next, called Sybil, Myrtle and Mabel.

Beatrixpotty Wed 10-Apr-13 22:14:07

Rufus,Fenn & Jude are lovely.
And Betsy Odette and Nell.
Please not Mildred!

OrangeFootedScrubfowl Wed 10-Apr-13 21:08:53

My favourites are Otis and Etta too.

DustingIsEasy Wed 10-Apr-13 21:05:05

Rufus and Merryn

And Horace.

But the word 'hector' isn't the same as the meaning as the name Hector. I love Hector. smile

toffeelolly Wed 10-Apr-13 20:28:15

Love Jude for boy ( my ds is jude) and Betsy for a dd. Two great nameswink

FriggFRIGG Wed 10-Apr-13 20:26:01

I like Hector in theory, but the meaning rules it out for me again.gah!
