Think you've decided on a name? Check out where it ranks on the official list of the most popular baby names first.

What do you think of these and what else might I like?

I had a massive long list, I've managed to shorten it down to these, but now I'd quite like some more to add grin opinions on these are welcome too.

Current DC are Sky and Arlo.

Atticus (nn Kit)

Hester (hetty)

This is quite a short list for you! wink

Love Atticus/Kit and thought you'd pretty much decided on it?
Like Idris
Like Jude
Please not Elmer - great name for an elephant but not for a boy imho

Hester is my favourite of the girls' names by a long way. I like Betsy and Nell but only as nicknames.

FriggFRIGG Wed 10-Apr-13 16:48:57

grin it is isn't it!

My only problem with Atticus (which I just LOVE) is that it's quite long compared to the other two DD names,I worry it'll look odd next to them IYSWIM.

My problem with Betsy and Nell is the same as yours, but I don't seem to like any of the full name versions...

Not Elmer (Fudd Looney Tunes character), Percy and Mildred sound old rather than classic. Like the others.

I don't think it matters that Atticus is longer than your other DS's names (which are wonderful names btw!), it still goes with Sky and Arlo. I prefer Atticus to the nn Kit though, but that's just me.

How about Otto?

FriggFRIGG Wed 10-Apr-13 17:24:39

I like Otto, but two O ending names might be a bit much...

Otis, Jude and Rufus are great, and would go well with the other two.

Artemis is fab but two "Ar..." names could be too much. Also like Nell and Vita.

OneHundredSecondsofSolitude Wed 10-Apr-13 17:33:42

Kit is an odd nn for Atticus. A bit like saying his name is Jonathan but we call him nick

Fenn is also peculiar

thermalsinapril Wed 10-Apr-13 17:43:28

I thought that too, OneHundred. Wouldn't it be Tic?

FriggFRIGG Wed 10-Apr-13 17:46:33's been agreed it was a fab nn/full name combo on a thread it's fiiiiine wink

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie Wed 10-Apr-13 18:49:57

Tic would be an awful nn though. Kit much better if less obvious.

Otis and Etta are my favourite from your lists

Boys I like

Girls I like

Of those I think Fenn and Merryn would work best with the names you have but I also think that's not v nb and you should pick the name you love best!

This list is great! We have very similar naming tastes... < marks place>

FriggFRIGG Wed 10-Apr-13 19:56:09

I like Cassius, but I'm not keen on the meaning...Pascal is lovely, but almost rhymes with our surname, and has the same first letter so it wouldn't work sad

Thanks everyone, this is really helpful thanks

I like Hector in theory, but the meaning rules it out for me again.gah!

toffeelolly Wed 10-Apr-13 20:28:15

Love Jude for boy ( my ds is jude) and Betsy for a dd. Two great nameswink

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie Wed 10-Apr-13 20:31:09

But the word 'hector' isn't the same as the meaning as the name Hector. I love Hector. smile

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie Wed 10-Apr-13 20:31:20

And Horace.

DustingIsEasy Wed 10-Apr-13 21:05:05
