Help! Boys name needed!

After expecting pink news, we've been told were having a boy. We had a girls name sorted and loved it. My problem is that I don't like any boys names at all. Having spent time in schools, I'm very aware of lots of 'nightmare child' names that have put me off certain names. Plus lots of traditional lovely names have been taken by our family already. We can't have:
Oliver
Harry
Daniel
Jack
James
Joshua
William
DP has come up with a few horrible ones Hmm. We aren't bothered about it being traditional but not too off the wall. Any suggestions?

Hmmmm not overly keen on any of those.... Not that they're horrible, but I'm just not loving any of them. I quite like Charlie and Finlay....but I'm not sure I can imagine a grown up Charlie? I do love Fin though.

Hmmm Laurie is prob the best from those lists.... But still its not Finlay. I do really like it.... DP has an issue that one of his friends has Finn. I've never net him though and It's not like the kids will ever meet ...should I tell him to get over it?!

Finlay is nice but getting very popular if that puts you off?

or what about:
Miles
Keir
Hayden
Jonah
Edgar

I didnt exaggerate when I said I didn't like ANY. lol.
I know Finlay is getting v popular but there's not much I can do if its the only one I actually like! DP wants one he can shorten too.... And I don't mind Fin. I suggested Charlie, bailey, laurie... But he doesn't like them. :-/
Suitable middle names with Finlay??
Oh and I don't no whether to go with Finlay, Finnlay, Finley, Finnley?? Any thoughts?

Scooby, jenson and Jude are on my list of possibilities too but DP doesn't like them. Along with Jesse. But he says they are all to girlie if shortened. :-/ they are the only ones I like as much as Finlay.

If you're set on Finlay (nicest spelling IMO) then it's not surprising none of the others jumps out at you.

Finlay Max
Finlay Jasper
Finlay Owen
Finlay Ryan
Finlay Cole
Finlay Jack
Finlay Cassius

I'm not necessarily set on it... It's the only one both DP and I like (well DP is tolerating it rather than liking!) I don't mind using a name already used by family as a middle name though,... What do people think of
Finlay James
Finlay Thomas
Finlay Matthew ???
DP really likes finlay George, but I'm really not keen

Finlay is nice! How about one of these either as an alternative or a middle name..
Philip
Flynn
Grayson
Lewis
Fraser
Heath
Evan
Nicholas
Everett
Jonah
Emmett
Edmund
Ephraim

Finlay James
Finlay Thomas
Finlay Matthew

All very nice! I'd pick either Thomas or Matthew. James is suggested all the time as a middle name on here as it goes with anything, so I think the other two would be a more original choice.

Hmmm our surname has three syllables so I'm thinking a one syllable middle name might be better. .... Flippin eck this is hard work!

How about Nathaniel - could be shortened to Nathan Nate or Nat ! Am v biased as my ds name. It is a proper name but not well used so makes it a bit different but shortened versions are more popular.

I work with a nightmare Nathan so its kind of ruined tht one for me....DP just said he likes Finlay James although I know how boring and popular they both are. I worry that he's just agreeing with whatever i say now :-/

No, take no notice of me! Grin James does work well with Finlay and popularity doesn't matter if it's a nice name Smile

As long as your surname doesn't begin with T how about Finlay Adam?

Other names,
Fletcher
Hunter
Garrick
