What do you think about jasper?
(30 Posts)Ooh a blank post - very clever!
Love Jasper.
Wetter than lake windermere. Sorry
Love jasper! Very cool.
Makes me think about a Labrador.
I know a Jasper. It really suits him.
But, to be honest, where I live it's what we call a wasp so it wouldn't be my first choice
Also makes me think of wasps.
Plus I know a Jasper with a really rude mum.
So I can't make an objective assessment, subjectively speaking I don't like it!
I know a jasper and I love the name.
It also means wasp where I live but its not widely known or used so not a problem.
Big vote for the name from me
Yellowandgreen I do hope you're not talking about me!
Gonna out myself probably.. my ds is called Jasper its an awesome name! (obviously biased)
Hahaha, I think not as your post was not even a teeny bit rude, the person I know is soooooo rude it is untrue!
I love jasper but I'd be slightly worried that it would be linked to twilight.
To me, it reminds me of jasper tudor, Margaret beauforts secret love and protector in the red queen.
I love it and if i ever had a boy it would be my first choice.
I prefer Casper but Jasper is ok too. It's a bit out there but it's nice. My first thought is of Jasper, Canada (not bees or dogs).
Love it!
I think of the historical connection not twilight.
What a lovely name! I also love Casper. If I was a boy, my parents were going to name me Severiano. Luckily I was a girl, so they gave me a french name that no one can spell!!!
Jasper is a dialect word that means wasps in the west country, so I wouldn't use it.
I suppose it depends where you live. Names have different means and popularity.
At the end of the day, if you love a name, who cares what anyone else thinks!
Meanings
It's great. I know a fab little Jasper.
Regularly hear it honked across Waitrose by Boden clad mummies. Siblings often called Barnaby and Amelia!
I have a very posh friend who has THE loveliest Springer Spaniel I have ever met. Guess what his name is?
Dd's goldfish's name.
Love it. Has been on the list for all 3 DCs but we called the cat it first so never been able to take the plunge... It is becoming quite popular though, I know of 4 or 5 aged 5 - 2ish.
Laughing at signoras comment,...... I wear a lot of boden clothes and also love the name barney so maybe this name is for me!!
I know a few animal Jaspers.
