A lot of Scottish girls names sound a little harsh to my ears (Morven, Mhairi etc). Do you know any prettier sounding names? Please include pronunciation of gaelic names to save confusion! Thank you! grin

I love Ailsa.

I wanted it for DD, but it is similar to my name and DH talked me out of it.

Yay BikeRunSki! I chose Ailsa for DC2, but ended up with a boy. Such a pretty name.

Sadhbh was also a top runner but friends had their DD a couple of months earlier and chose it.

Naoise is a boys name but I do know a girl with it. I think he was the hero in a tragic love story.

Muirreann (Mwirren)
Caoimhe (Kweeva)
Blaithín (Blah-heen) means flower

So many lovely girls names, boys on the other hand....DS was a week old before he was named!

Grin at Griege.

G'wan OP, you've got to use Ailsa since neither of us have been able to.
