Hiya, this is hyperthetical at the moment - just starting TTC DC2.
Went to Willows farm today & thought that Willow would make a really pretty girls name.
What are your thoughts?

Like you, pretty.

I like it, being a Buffy fan. The only thing that would concern me, is that it is a name that only really works in English speaking countries.

I like Willow. I don't know why but it seems a bit of a daring name to me (but then I really wanted River for a boy!)

I have heard Willow a few times but for older children. It's pretty. Foliage names seem to be very popular, I heard a Daisy yesterday and we have a Poppy.

Love it! grin

Ooooh actually, yes, really nice.

Shinyshoes1 Tue 02-Apr-13 20:13:24

Love it . It's a unisex name . I'd use it for a boy too

MrsOakenshield Tue 02-Apr-13 20:13:33

lovely. I like 'nature' names - River, Summer, Sky, that kind of thing. We would have called DD Summer but for her being born in the depths of winter! And Winter's a crap name.

Frikadellen Tue 02-Apr-13 20:17:48

Yes I like it

HootShoot Tue 02-Apr-13 20:23:44

Massive Buffy fan here too, so I love the name! I wanted to name our daughter Willow but my husband was mean and wouldnt let me. The only thing that slightly put me off was Willow Smith emerging and waving her hair and she is VERY annoying!!

jellybeans Tue 02-Apr-13 20:26:39

I dislike it.

Graceparkhill Tue 02-Apr-13 20:29:49

I love it. Very lyrical.

Ladyemem Tue 02-Apr-13 20:35:56

wouldnt say i love it but i like it

TotallyEggFlipped Tue 02-Apr-13 21:47:47

It always makes me think of Warwick Davis in the film Willow.

TotallyEggFlipped Tue 02-Apr-13 21:47:59

But I still like it!

LoganMummy Tue 02-Apr-13 21:49:53

Agree with Totally (but I still love it!)

15 weeks atm and its my name if we have a girl I love it, stop stealing grin oh and posting making it populargrin only joking I love love it but I am a huge Buffy fan and have liked it since I was 16 smile

I love the name Willow and would strongly consider using it - but I just had the thought - I'm a pretty plump lady and...what if DD was a bit chunky? Or really tall and broad and strong. Willow just seems like it indicates a 'Willowy' person. And then I got worried about what the names we choose indicate what we expect/want our DDs to look like.

Not that that's a reason to rule it out

TheFalconsmistress Wed 03-Apr-13 12:21:50

unami I am fat and if DD is fat so be it I think willow is more of an at one with nature name rather than an indicator of body type smile

SingSongMummy Wed 03-Apr-13 12:36:21

Very popular in London right now, I know of 3 and a friend had two Willows in the same NCT group!

TwllBach Wed 03-Apr-13 12:41:18

Really like it, and also like Willa.

Gwennan Wed 03-Apr-13 12:50:09

Go with Willa - much fresher.

Willow sounds very light and airy and pretty but Willa definitely has the edge for me.

Love it. I know a boy and a girl Willow, and it works on both of them.

I used to have a hamster called Willow. Doesn't work for me.
