We are ttc but have been tossing names around for a while now smile

I love the name Greyson, Dh loves the name Grey which i am more than happy to use as a nick name but would prefer our child to have a longer name DH not a fan of Greyson, are there any other alternatives out there?

I also like:

Cole - My all time most favourite name, Dh hates this
Jonah - we both like this
Caleb - not sold on it
Ralph - i love dh is meh

any suggestions?

Have a friend who has a Grady, lovely unusual name

Bit of a stretch but Lloyd?

Lloyd is derived from the Welsh llwyd which means Grey....

The muppet dog was Rowlf wasn't he? Jonah is nicest

I seem to remember a character in Inspector Morse who was called Grayling, young female pathologist I think. A Grayling is a fish ....

going back to Graham, there is the variant spelling Graeme which might look a bit cooler written down at least grin

Jonah or Ralph.
Sorry, just can't imagine calling a child a colour that is pretty much always used negatively, eg of weather or unhealthy-looking people, depressing outlook on life.

My surname was Gray before I got married. It's very 'meh' to me (I was happy to lose it smile). Really dislike Greyson. To me it is ether American surname as first name trend (top 100 name btw) or just a surname - anyone remember Greyson and Cholmondley Warner.

The only Greyson I know sometimes gets called Grace for short at school by other children. I don't think I'd like my boy being called Grace. But then I also have a Graham (who is a tiny entertaining lunatic, and gets called Grey most of the time) so maybe I'm too boring to know what I'm talking about. wink

I like Wolf, and Bear, neither dh would agree to. Not that you mentioned Bear grin

I like Ralph for several reasons its a family name and also a really cool muppet grin

I suppose i do like Grey just as a name to smile

Love Grey and Greyson. Very modern but can imagine a boy, a teenager and a man called Grey (this is how I try and decide if a name is suitable or not)

I'd just call him Grey. No longer name needed.

I can't imagine a willy called Ralph. Surely most of them don't have names???

ThePigOfHappiness Sun 24-Mar-13 19:46:35

Sorry, it is very close to fifty shades.

Ralph is the name of the willy in Judy Bloom's forever?

PortBlacksandWhitesnow Sun 24-Mar-13 19:41:56

Looking at your list you should also consider Wulfric nn Wolfie
'Twould be next on my list except one of my DCs has a very similar name.

PortBlacksandWhitesnow Sun 24-Mar-13 19:39:15

Ralph was the name of the lead boy's williie in Judy Bloom's Forever soft porn for early teens

Ruined the name forever for me it has....

Hmmmm Grady thats different, i quite like it grin

cookielove Sun 24-Mar-13 19:34:36

I know what 50 shades is about and the lead character it just never interested me to read, went to popular to fast and what it essentially is, is shit fan fiction from what i have heard. Not my kind of reading. Its already beginning to loose it's status as the best book ever <sarcasm>

A camp tv presenter doesn't put me off either.

Ralph and willies your gonna have to explain that one??

tilder Sun 24-Mar-13 19:30:42

Fifty shades is a lot more contemporary (larry was a very camp tv presenter from the seventies).

PortBlacksandWhitesnow Sun 24-Mar-13 19:28:04

Grayson Perry is very cool.

Ralph makes me think of willies but i am of a certain age wink

cookielove Sun 24-Mar-13 19:25:58
