I like the name Travis but I know what you mean about it not being so easy for a baby! Good choice for a middle name.
How about Brandon, Carter, Evan, Ethan, Nathan, Owen, Liam, Lewis?

If you prefer more surname type - two very traditional Northumbrian names (and I know 2 small children with them) Ridley and Charlton.

Travis makes a refreshing change from all the cutesy Alfie,Archie,Henry, Harry type names. But you've both got to love the name you choose!
How about
Whatever name you choose, it will BECOME your baby so don't worry about not being able to 'see' a name on a baby vs an adult - it will happen whatver name you choose. Good luck!

We have a Dexter Miles aged 7, so pre TV series! Never met another one. Dexter is a great strong name. Good for baby through to adult.

Travis/Dexter ..... Trevor.

There you go, sorted.

I really like Travis! And Henry, although they each have a very different feel. Dexter is nice but a but faddy, having a bit of a moment over the last few years and will date.

I dont think people would be negative about it here as you arent askig for an opinion on it - but it would help give an incline of the tyoes of names you like.

Sorry not going to put the girl's name as lots of people will have negative things to say!
I like Jude and Harrison.. Thank you! Will suggest these to partner later smile
To wormcanner.. Yes they will grow to become a child, teenager and adult but they will also be a baby too and it's just my personal opinion I can't see myself calling a baby Travis that's all!

WormCanner Sun 17-Mar-13 15:52:46

"can't see it as a 'baby name'"

You aren't naming a baby. You are naming a person, who will grow up and become a child, a teenager and an adult.

If you like surnamey, contemporary sounding names how about; Griffin, Bailey, Rafferty, Jonas, Leon, Luca, Harrison, Max, Ellis, Elliot.

What's the girls' name?

Must admit that I don't like Travis - sorry, Mort.

NTMummy059 Sun 17-Mar-13 15:22:10

Haha ohh sorry don't mean to offend! Its so difficult to find the 'perfect' name.. Driving us crazy!
Thanks .. I do like George but partner doesn't sad

MortifiedAdams Sun 17-Mar-13 15:19:01

Haha I dont know if I can help as Travis is our top boys name.

Hmnn......George....Fergus (nn Gus), Rex

NTMummy059 Sun 17-Mar-13 15:18:35

If that* makes sense.. Not they!

NTMummy059 Sun 17-Mar-13 15:17:32

We don't know the sex of baby yet.. So we have the girl name picked smile we just CANNOT agree on a boy name!
Partner likes Travis - I don't like it and can't see it as a 'baby name' if they makes sense?! Have agreed to use it as a middle name though.
We are having trouble with a first name.. Both like Dexter and Henry but not completely in love with them.. Just looking for some other suggestions to see if anything else jumps out at us?
