Ok, so Harvey...

I've just tried to wade through the "Savanna and Harvey" thread but got a bit, er, bogged down in the bun fight. What's the general opinion on Harvey? I like it and the only two Harvey's I've ever met were über posh, but has Katie Price made it a bit too 'street'? Does anyone have any good alternatives? Will be a younger sibling for Kit (Christopher).

I do quite like Harvey but agree Katie Price did spoil it! But we can't just stop using a baby name because some celeb has given their baby that name.

Is that the only thing stopping you from using it?

Harvey would be abit posh here in the SE. I don't think of katie prices boy with regards to the name either.
Christopher and Harvey sound very nice together. Also like the fact that you can't shorten Harvey imo.

Harvey is posh?! I associate it more with the opposite end of the spectrum...!

Love the name Christopher!!

I know four dogs called Harvey. None of them are especially posh.

It wouldn't be my choice, tbh.

I hate it if I'm honest. Nothing to do with whether it's posh or 'chavvy', I just really dislike the way it sounds.

Hm - I've also heard it as a dog's name. Might get a bit confusing in the park when I shout Harvey and two labs and a greyhound come running over.

Ladymia, it's not exactly put off because Katie Price has used it, more that it's become increasingly popular and is, as my primary teacher friend put it, a bit of a "naughty boy's name". A bit like Lee when I was at school .

I think you are overthinking things a little!

If we are ruling out popular names, posh names, opposite of posh names, names people give their dogs and names celebs used then what are we going to be left with?

Sorry, that should be 'I'm', not 'it's'.

How about Christopher II then? :)

Wasn't Harvey a bit Hmm before Katie Price though?

I think it alludes to 'classy' things. KP's Harvey is named after Harvey Nichols, isnt he? a bit like calling a girl, Chardonnay or twins called D'Olchy and G'abb-Anna Grin
