Sister for Amaya...help please!
(47 Posts)Feeling very unconvinced by our current shortlist of names. We're looking for a girl's name that crosses cultures (Indian/Anglo preferably), and works with older sister's name, Amaya. I'd also quite like to have Amy as the middle name as it was a close relative's name. Any suggestions please?
How about Indira, Uma, Asha or Jasmine?
Keira?
Bela, Dhara, Jaya, Keya, Kiran, Leela, Leena, Lola, Marisa, Miriam, Nina, Rohini, Roshan, Safia, Salena, Serena, Sonia, Tara, Uma, Yasmin, Zahra.
I ADORE Marisa
Bella is a good fusion name I think.
Serene instead of Serena is lovely and more unusual.

Amaya is a beautiful name.
Thanks for the suggestions. I really like Roshana, Safia, Zahra, Anisha. Already have Lila and Alisha on our list.
Many of the other ideas are names of close friends or family members (Rita/Nina/Mia/Aisha/Tara/Mina).
The OTHER problem I have is that my husband rejects names that are from another community/religion in India, i.e. Zahra, Anisha, Safia! Argh!
I love the names Ella, Ava and Isla, but I think they've become really over-used lately, so probably ruling them out.
Any more suggestions?? I'm starting to panic.
