Alastair or Felix?

I think I've finally narrowed the list down to these two...

So Felix or Alistair? I love Greyson and Piers too but I think they need to remain on the fantasy name list Sad

Alastair as Felix is a tiny bit more
popular out of the 2. It also depends on what your surname is & if you are going to have a middle name. Put it all together and hear how it sounds out aloud & choose the one that flows well.

Felix, it's a bit more global. Alastair is v Scottish to me.

I have an Alasdair and obviously think it's a great name. Be prepared to always spell it as there are a number of variations!

I'm biased as I have an Alastair. Agree with whyriskit though that you will often need to spell it, and get used to people spelling it incorrectly regardless!

Ooh I love BOTH those names! However, I would go with Felix. It's harder to saddle a nickname for Felix.

Felix is a brand of cat food, fgs!

Both great names. Alistair has slight edge cos of the cat connection with Felix

mynameis · 22/02/2013 14:18

Def Alistair, I only think of cats when I hear Felix!

Alastair. So many spellings though!

Out of those Alastair but it's a name he will always be spelling out.

Felix just makes me think of the cat too. My OH actually likes the name Felix but there is NO way it's even making the maybe list for us for the cat reason.

Not helpful at all but I absolutely love them both. I like the spelling Alistair, though thats probably because I knew a lovely one!

Alastair. Ours was always called Alastair till he got to senior school and some of his friends called him ali or al.

luckyornot · 22/02/2013 17:27

another biased one with her own Alistair here! I love the name. We call my ds Ali mostly, or Alicat Grin

FollicallyEnhancedFreak · 22/02/2013 20:59

Quite a mixed response!

I love Ali as a NN.

This is DC4 - I already have 2 DC with an A name, will 3 A names make me look odd? Hmm

Ali as a nickname was great until we lived in Befnal Green, you couldn't move for Ali's, i found it really confusing!

Yup, wierd! But hey, they won't always all live at home. ;)

Alastair.

Felix sounds too much like a cat.
