I have a DD first name Lily middle name Grace. My next DD is due in the summer and so I wanted to call her Summer. I also wanted to use my nans name as her middle name, which is Eva. But I just realised Summer Eva may sound a bit silly? Like summer evening? I really love the name Summer but also want to use some part of my nans name, her name was Eva Florence May. Does Summer Eva sound silly? If it does any other suggestions? I want something soft and pretty like Lily.

Realistically I'm not sure if using both Eva and Florence would work with Summer together.

Summer Florence Eva is a bit of a mouth full. But honestly ask yourself how often are you going say her name in full?

Summer Florence Eve flows better IMHO but I know it's a family name.

If you're keen on Summer maybe find a different middle name like Summer Florence Emily iykwim?!?

What about

Summer Eva May?

Sorry, but yes, I don't think you can do Summer with Eva. Summer Florence would work, but Summer May doesn't either I don't think.

Or if you wanted to use Summer and Eva, break them up with a second middle name? Any other family names you like or just names you like you could work in there?

If you want to keep Eva maybe lose the Summer. You'll probably need something that doesn't end in an eee sound to flow (though some might work) and I think an a sound is difficult too. Do you like things like Jasmine? Erin? Poppy?

Do you think it would be okay for one DD to have one middle name and another to have two middle names?

I could add my DPs grandmas name in Summer Rachel Eva which I think sounds lovely but not sure if it makes my other DDs name Lily Grace a bit short sounding?

Other names I can think of are:
Ava Florence
Ava May
Evie May
Jasmine Eva

I think Summer Rachel Eva sounds nice. I see no reason that names need to match. My kids both have the same number of names, but the names themselves are quite different IYSWIM.

Jasmine Eva is nice too (not saying that just because it was on my list of suggestions Smile). I'm not keen on Ava May, I think it just seems a bit quick - it sort of flows into one sound. And Evie and Lily are a bit similar for my tastes. Ava Florence is nice.

You could choose something a bit more subtle, if you really like Eva - maybe a summer flower like Rose, which then goes nicely with Lily, or names to do with light, like Aurora or Lucy.

Eva Summer?

Lily Grace & Eva Summer sound like sisters to me.

I agree Eva Summer sounds much better.
