Boys name help

Hello

I'm 36 weeks with DC2. Sex unknown. Already have a DD Hannah. I have an unusual name for my age and as a result I am drawn to simple, classic names which no one asks me to repeat several times.

Could anyone help with boys names. We like Rory (well do most of the time) but wanted Gregory as a middle name. Does Rory Gregory sound ridiculous?

We liked Isaac for DD but one of my closes friends son is Isaac. I like Harry (too similar to Hannah) Nathaniel (too similar to surname and poss a bit fancy for where we live) Gabriel being the same...

Any other names I could run past DP (he says no 99/100) but never comes up with ideas!

Baby will have DPs surname, an Irish name O'.....

Our girls name is Emilia Harriet (just like the middle name) or Emilia Alison (family name)

Can't you have Gregory as a first name?

Ross instead of Rory maybe

Or Rory Gregor

Ciaran?
Jacob
Joseph

Again, like Gregory and Rory but not together. Prefer Gregor to Gregory though. I am also one who wouldnt choose Rory incase he had a speech impediment Blush

Also suggesting
Elliott
George
Henry
Charles

Now Nathaniel was one of my favs when had DS in 1993, but thought too posh, so went for Daniel, similar but not as nice, so go for it, and as it happens Elliott was a choice for 2nd DS and we went for it, so glad. Other fav for first DS but not brave enough was Jago, cornish for James. ( we were living in Cornwall at the time)

Love Gregory wanted that name for both ds but dh wasn't 100% about it. I think it's cute but also manly later on.

Rory Gregory sounds a bit funny together but then I guess you probably wouldn't use them together that often. I do like Rory Gregor as an alternative. I think Harry is too close to Hannah imo. I like Nathaniel and Isaac and Gabriel, what about

Joseph
Peter
Oliver
Jacob
Francis

You could use Rory as shortened version of Gregory, to grow into as he gets older?

DPs brother is Gregory so it cant be a first name. I do like Rory Gregor though and Rory Nathaniel. How important is it to keep the traditional of middle names being family names do people think?

I love George, will be suggesting that to DP when he gets DD to sleep. Maybe Oliver too although initials would be OO.

Francis is lovely too but a no go - DPs late grandfather.

We have a George Edward, but considered Theodore and Finn too. We havnt used any family names but will have an issue if we have a dd ever as I have a family middle name that "gets" passed on and I don't want to inflict it on someone else! Wink
