Baby names

Tilly, George and...

Dc3 is somewhat surprisingly on it's way and we're stuck on names. Dd is Matilda Grace Kathleen and ds is George Alexander Thomas.

So far I love Edward or Constance (Connie) but dh had no string feeling about either and just suggests Robin whether it's a girl or a boy which I really don't think goes with the other names?

Also the Kathleen is because dd was born on my Granny's birthday and Thomas as day was born on my Grandad's. So don't know if we should leave a third name out or give something with a family connection?

Just at a but of a stale mate and going round in circles. I wondered if there were any suggestions to get us moving on inour naming discussions...

What about Edward Hugo James for the little man or Constance Verity Elizabeth for the little lady, good luck with your decision whatever you decide.

Use Robin as the third name for either sex?

How about:
Lawrence Francis Robin
Nicholas Patrick Robin
Sebastian Edward Robin

or

Jessica Louise Robyn
Lillian Francesca Robyn
Rosalind Marissa Robyn

I like Edward Hugo James, those 3 names sound great together.

Or Sebastian Robin Edward.

If DH isn't sold on Constance try something out of left field, he might give Connie another go?

Harriet or Hattie for a girl, you could use Robyn as a middle name.
Emily Robyn Louise

Constance Mary
Constance Daisy

I agree with you OP that Robin/Robyn just doesn't go.

If DH doesn't like your choices, how about Freddie/Charlie/William/arthur for a boy or Alice/Lucy/Elizabeth/Anna/philippa for a girl?

Good luck!

Thank you for the suggestions!

Really like Elizabeth for a girl and lots of good options for shortening. Had also tried Alice and Lucy on dh but both have been vetoed. Though I love all the suggestions dh seems to think we should move away from the more 'classic' names. ds is only 1 and dd 3 so it's not exactly long ago we were on the same page naming wise!

chunops I really like the flow of both your suggestions! Constance Verity Elizabeth particularly.

donkeys might try and push the limits on left field names and we can maybe come full circle back to Constance! Might employ that method!

Thank for the suggestions whilst I was very slowly typing!

We have a nephew very close in age to dd called Oscar so don't want to use that but otherwise like it!

Ned - we could have that as a nn for Edward. Will definitely try that with dh! Thank you.

Oliver is great - I had dismissed due to Tilly and Ollie all being a bit of a mouthful but maybe am over worrying?

Beatrice is excellent...our surname starts with a B though so might be a bit much...

puds I like Kitty and Henry. Ralph is lovely as well.

Think we could have Robin/Robyn as a middle name comprimise and see if we can find something we both love for the first!

When I read the title my first thought was 'Norman'... Can't say it'd appeal to me but thought I'd mention it just incase!

I have a George Alexander so you have great taste! My current favorite for DD due in May is Elizabeth and I will be surprised if we don't go with this. I just think it is lovely, classic, great nicknames and goes with your other names.

Well I suggested Norman and suddenly Edward looking promising now! We also both like Ned!

Now to work round to Constance...

Originally posted this a while ago. We seem to have agreed on Elizabeth Joy Frances and Edward Oliver John...except dh wants a boy to be known as Teddy. With our other two that would be Tilly, George and Teddy. I think Tilly and Teddy is a bit like a cbeebies programme or something. Does George make it more sensible or is it just a bit...bleugh?

Your choices of names are very nice. Agree with you that Tiilly and Teddy is too much though.

Thanks thermal! I think so...really making me want to avoid Edward! Dh says it doesn't matter but I know he would call him Teddy and I would cringe as all a bit cutsey. This time round dh doesn't want to discuss name options with anyone else as we had some negative comments before George was born...so no one else to run it by!

Well i have a Tilly and Meg, their names seems to work well and if I'd had a boy he'd have been a George!

Connie! That is my all time favourite name, but sounds ridiculous with our surname so dd is a Tilly!!

I also liked Clara, Cora and Tessa, but you can't have a Tilly and Tessa!!

So Connie for a dd, and Leo for a ds.

Good luck!

I also like will for a boy but doesn't go with our surname
