The clock is ticking and I need help with boys name!

I am due soon and my OH and I have had 2 names on our shortlist since the word go however we still feel as though we haven't found "the one". Although this may be due to having to actually see our new bubba and test them out on him.

We want a name that our child won't have to repeat or spell EVERY time he says his name (some on my list slightly contradicts that Blush).

The 2 names we have liked throughout are Alex (possibly Alexander as a full name) and Dylan however I'm concerned that they are too common and not amazing enough Smile. I just think they both look and sound so nice and they conjur up a "cool" boy and fit all ages.

Others I have considered are:
Ethan
Felix (might shorten to Eli)
Cassius (Cass for short)
Nairn
Shea (vaious spellings)
Rohan

OH likes:
Max
Lennox

Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated as we really want to be armed with a strong shortlist for when the time arrives!

I really like Alexander or Alexbut they are very popular but nothing wrong in that. Do not like Dylan - no idea why just never have.

Of the others you mention I love Max - always have but my DH really doesn't - said it was a dogs name !

I also like Rory, Lucas, Jacob, Cameron, Teddy, Edward, Adam, - depends also on your surname.

Lol regarding Max - I agree with your DH! Smile.

Of your additional names we have both liked Lucas but unfortunately won't go with our surname and have always liked Adam but think it's too "safe".

Thanks for your reply!

My DH name is Alex and my DS1 is Dylan so obviously I think they are great names. DS2 is Lachlan. We have one with a Welsh name after my DH family and one with Scottish name after mine. Like your suggestion of Cassius.

I like Adam and certainly wouldn't say it was 'safe'. I don't know of any wee Adams and think it's a lovely strong name. How about Alistair? :-)

Alex - OK

Dylan - Magic Roundabout

Adam - never liked it, too biblical for me

Ethan - No
Felix (might shorten to Eli) No
Cassius (Cass for short) No
Nairn No
Shea (vaious spellings) No
Rohan - best of the bunch :)

OH likes:
Max - dog
Lennox - dog

Sorry - but you did ask!
