What do you think? It is a version of Rolf.

King Rollo was a kids' cartoon in the 80's - anyone old enough to remember that like me will make the association.

Not great if they are not one of life's thin people.....

TillyTommyTootToot · 12/01/2013 18:07

Do you love anyone enough to give them your last.........

Chottie · 12/01/2013 18:08

Please think very carefully - he will be forever associated with the sweets of the same name......

p.s. I know it is NOMB, but there are lots of other boy's names........

Life will be a fucking nightmare if little Rollo is fat!

King Rollo wasn't a good role model either. Infantile and prone to endless tantrums, as I remember - so unlike some cartoon characters, this one invites ridicule, I'm afraid.

King Rollo was brilliant! Don't you remember he could walk up trees perpendicularly? It's not like Pob, or something.

No, please no.

I don't see how it's different to names like Ivo, which everyone seems to like?

I knew a giant chocolate poodle of that name.

King Rollo was ace!

No, though. Sorry.

Roland? I like Roly as a nn.

Given the trend for boys' names ending in "o" - Milo, Arlo, Otto - you'd be ahead of the curve a bit with Rollo.

I'll be the lone voice.I love it.

It'll forever br the fat boys from Grange Hill for me, sorry!

Reminds me of the guy from Faithless who's called Rollo. And you might get mispronunciations between 'Rolo' and 'Rohl-o'. I really don't like it, sorry.

I like it. I love The Cleveland Show and the little boy off that is called Rollo, pronounced Ra-Lo

Bluestocking · 12/01/2013 19:24

For me, it's a real Tim-Nice-But-Dim name. It's what cheery Sloaney dimwits called Roland are called by their family and friends.

Wasn't he in Grange Hill??

No sorry. Again, will be really bullied if he turns out to be on the large side.

But i agree with goldplated, i like Rollo pronounced Ra-Lo from the Cleveland Show. It suits his character which again i'd look into if you consider that.

But not Rollo.

I love Rollo for a dog.

As already pointed out, a rather rotund person will hate it as their name.

Report
PurpleStorm · 12/01/2013 21:48

I misread it as Rolo and thought you were thinking about naming a child after the chocolate Blush
