What do you think? It is a version of Rolf.

PoppyWearer Sat 12-Jan-13 18:06:33

King Rollo was a kids' cartoon in the 80's - anyone old enough to remember that like me will make the association.

HollyGoHeavily Sat 12-Jan-13 18:07:33

Not great if they are not one of life's thin people.....

TillyTommyTootToot Sat 12-Jan-13 18:07:52

Do you love anyone enough to give them your last.........

Chottie Sat 12-Jan-13 18:08:41

Please think very carefully - he will be forever associated with the sweets of the same name......

p.s. I know it is NOMB, but there are lots of other boy's names........

MadameCastafiore Sat 12-Jan-13 18:08:58

Life will be a fucking nightmare if little Rollo is fat!

FraterculaArctica Sat 12-Jan-13 18:09:37

King Rollo wasn't a good role model either. Infantile and prone to endless tantrums, as I remember - so unlike some cartoon characters, this one invites ridicule, I'm afraid.

delilah88 Sat 12-Jan-13 18:12:21

King Rollo was brilliant! Don't you remember he could walk up trees perpendicularly? It's not like Pob, or something.

akaemmafrost Sat 12-Jan-13 18:13:01

No, please no.

delilah88 Sat 12-Jan-13 18:14:43

I don't see how it's different to names like Ivo, which everyone seems to like?

iseenodust Sat 12-Jan-13 18:16:30

I knew a giant chocolate poodle of that name.

MadBusLady Sat 12-Jan-13 18:18:40

King Rollo was ace!

No, though. Sorry.

Roland? I like Roly as a nn.

hatebeak Sat 12-Jan-13 18:19:44

Given the trend for boys' names ending in "o" - Milo, Arlo, Otto - you'd be ahead of the curve a bit with Rollo.

MarmaladeSkies Sat 12-Jan-13 18:20:38

I'll be the lone voice.I love it.

kitsmummy Sat 12-Jan-13 18:22:51

definitely a fat boy. So, No.

redandwhitesprinkles Sat 12-Jan-13 18:25:08

No, sorry.

sparkle12mar08 Sat 12-Jan-13 18:38:49

It'll forever br the fat boys from Grange Hill for me, sorry!

HyvaPaiva Sat 12-Jan-13 18:45:48

Reminds me of the guy from Faithless who's called Rollo. And you might get mispronunciations between 'Rolo' and 'Rohl-o'. I really don't like it, sorry.

GoldPlatedNineDoors Sat 12-Jan-13 18:51:29

I like it. I love The Cleveland Show and the little boy off that is called Rollo, pronounced Ra-Lo

Bluestocking Sat 12-Jan-13 19:24:09

For me, it's a real Tim-Nice-But-Dim name. It's what cheery Sloaney dimwits called Roland are called by their family and friends.

missmapp Sat 12-Jan-13 19:25:04

Wasn't he in Grange Hill??

LaurenCaddy Sat 12-Jan-13 19:46:05

No sorry. Again, will be really bullied if he turns out to be on the large side.

But i agree with goldplated, i like Rollo pronounced Ra-Lo from the Cleveland Show. It suits his character which again i'd look into if you consider that.

But not Rollo.

Pancakeflipper Sat 12-Jan-13 19:49:04

I love Rollo for a dog.

As already pointed out, a rather rotund person will hate it as their name.
