Cassius Leon or Leon something else..?

DS3 is a boy.We both like Cassius and came up with Leon as a middle name that I like the sound of with our surname. But is Cassius a difficult name to carry off and would Leon be better as a first name?I've got an unusual name as have always liked being the only one at school etc but for a boy is it better to have something more run of the mill? They will all go to the local school initially where pretty much anything goes as it is very culturally rich,Cassius would raise no eyebrows amongst the other names but I'm just thinking about later on.My other boys are Johnny and Rufus BTW.

Cassius Leon has a very grand sound to it. I really like, it's kind of Roman Emperor-ish. Cass is a great nn too.

If I was having a boy, Cassius would be on my short list.

I don't mind Cass, but prefer Leon over Cassius.
Erm, not very decisive there am I? Maybe I'm not helping.

I prefer Cassius, but Leon is very cool too.

Cassius and Rufus might be a bit similar though with the '-us' sound, Leon seems to 'fit' a little better with your other DS's names IMO. Although I think I'd probably still go for Cassius, nn Cass.

Love Leon! It was on our shortlist.
Would have been Leon James or Leon Marc Anthony.

Not keen on Cassius - think Leon is 'stronger' and goes with your other DSs names better.

I love Leon! It is cool and smart. Cassius is poncey but getting overused around these parts. Leon!

Love Cassius....I would avoid Leon as any I have met have been of the chavvy variety!

lolliloulou thanks for pointing that out about Leon, had no idea of those associations , nor mycats that Cassius was getting overused. Are you South or North?
Trying to avoid both those name problems..

They're both lovely, I really, really like both of them . Leon would be wasted as a middle name. I think you need to use one now and then have a DS4 and use the other Wink. It's the only way.

Love it! It would be high on my list if I were to have a boy if a close friend hadn't nicked it already got a gorgeous little Cassius. And Leon is great too.

The only leons i know are quite posh, so definitely don't get the chavvy thing (east of england).

Are you very boxing orientated? It's just all your names remind me of boxers.
Cassius is lovely.

isla I have so little interest in boxing apart from knowing the names in the Olympics etc that I didn't even know Mohammed Ali's real name was Cassius until I suggested it to DH and he told me!He likes him though which is why it got a yes from him..And I also realise there is Lennox Lewis so can see boxing connection but really is pure coincidence!
