Surname beginning with Z quite a funky one. What do you think?

zenoushka Fri 04-Jan-13 16:13:20

Love Eliza and Martha.

Clarano5 Fri 04-Jan-13 15:50:00

Martha! But I'm biased. Martha was Eliza for two days before we could decide.

Esme and Martha are lovely. Do not like Eliza at all. Like Elspeth less, almost as bad as Lily Allen calling her daughter Ethel. Emmy is a nickname to mine ear.

Emmy is a nickname not Envy. Envy would be a weird choice grin

Hello ladies,

What a mixed bag. Still can't decide but will see what the baby looks like I think. We've also added in Flora just to be more confused. Thanks for your opinions!

What about Esmay?

JiltedJohnsJulie Tue 11-Dec-12 23:31:52

Elspeth or Eliza. Envy is a nickname and I know a few Martha's and esmes.

Oh Elspeth it for me, my husband wanted a different name and I lost sad It would have really suited her too.

KenDoddsDadsDog Tue 11-Dec-12 23:22:14

Just because I have one and I love it!

Nice eclear post there hmm Meaning I'd choose either of the two E names from what's mentioned in the OP and by PPs.

notMarlene Tue 11-Dec-12 23:18:45

Elsapeth or Elspeth.

EllenParsons Tue 11-Dec-12 23:17:11

Martha! Gorgeous name.

EssieW Tue 11-Dec-12 13:22:44

All nice. Particularly like elspeth. Also Elsa a nice alternative

smother Tue 11-Dec-12 13:19:34

All lovely. Also what about Elizabeth? Then could have lots of lovely nns, like Lizzie, Elsie, Beth, Betty?

DeekeyDoo Sun 09-Dec-12 20:44:53

Love them all. How about Elsie as well?

baskingseals Sat 08-Dec-12 11:10:24

Eliza for me. gorgeous name.

Martha always reminds me of hearth and earth. also hand-maiden cinderella type. much prefer Marta, more elegant.

forgetmenots Fri 07-Dec-12 22:33:56

Martha is by far my favourite and Emmy/Esme my least favourites.

Eliza depends on your surname in case the repeated z is too much, and I love Elspeth but again the 's' and 'th' then 'z' is difficult to judge!

FWIW I also like Esther, might work with your name?

Startail Fri 07-Dec-12 22:25:11

Esme with a z surname good get a bit zzzzy.

Elsapeth is lovely and I think better with a z surname.

Emmy to me is a pet name for a little Emma or Emily.

Martha, Martha or Martha sounds perfect x

LimeLeafLizard Fri 07-Dec-12 21:55:25

I vote Elspeth! I used to know one as a child and she was lovely.

Alisvolatpropiis Fri 07-Dec-12 21:51:07

Would you be saying Ez-may or Es-mee? Big yes to the latter, big no to the former.

Elspeth is lovely and so unusual!

PurpleTinsel Fri 07-Dec-12 21:01:29

I like Esme and Elspeth best.

MolotovCocktail Fri 07-Dec-12 20:58:51

Esme: would you be putting an accent over the final 'e'?

elpth Fri 07-Dec-12 19:08:57

I'm an Elspeth and recommend it! I've met a few over the years and they all love being Elspeth too. Other names are lovely too though, good choices!
