Found out the sex of their DC at the 20 week scan and almost immediately known their baby's name?

I'm just curious. My DP and I found out the sex and I said 'Well how do you feel about this name?' and he loved it.

So we've been bonding with our boy, name and all, for quite some time. All we need is for our DS1 to arrive now Grin

We are pretty much set on a name, but I still think of her as 'bump' and not the name that we are planning to call her. I don't know why, I suppose because there is always a chance she won't look like that name and we will change our minds, or even that the sonographer was wrong and she will be a he.

On the other hand, my SIL is also pregnant and ever since they found out their baby was a girl at the scan, she always refers to the baby by the name they are planning to call her.

I worry that my DS won't 'look' like his namesake, however, it's not a name I hear everyday and I love it, so I'm sure he'll look just how I need him to haha!

Good luck on the arrival of your little lady, regardless of what you decide to name her Grin

SIL used to call her bump her chosen girls name even though they didn't know the gender (legs crossed on scan). I am so thankful that she turned out to be a She.

Grin Your SIL must have been psychic!

We had a 4D scan and the sonographer got a few definitive 'shots' of the evidence Grin So we know for sure we're expecting a DS.

Yes I told DH before I was even pregnant with dc3 that I would live a little girl called xxxx. When I found out I was pregnant I was sure she was a girl and this was confirmed at the scan. So she's had a name since conception.
Shane my other 4 dc weren't quite so straight forward!

We've been calling baby girl by name since 20 wk scan, she is that name now between us and close family only. My worry is that someone using the name before we get a chance to as due at end of jan I know a few arrivals on route before then

We'd spent months discussing names and not being able to agree on anything. Found out we're having a girl at twenty weeks, went home, and had agreed on a name within an hour. We call her it now between the two of us, but haven't told anyone else what it is yet. Fully expecting it to slip out in front of family at some point before she's born though!

Thanks itsall good luck to you too.

I am actually worried that once she is born I will still call her bump out of habit!

Wishful We were the last in a group of friends who were expecting boys and we worried someone else would come across it & use it but we took a completely different approach...

...We decided to announce it via Facebook and quite cheekily (in the loveliest, tongue in cheek way possible) told those concerned that this name was 'off limits' to them Wink Grin.

All our friends took it in the manner it was meant deadly serious & despite the fact it could have backfired, it didn't and we're the only ones left awaiting our bundles arrival. I'm booked in for an ECS a week tomorrow.

Stormy It's amazing how quickly a name can actually be agreed. Good luck!

My DP and I are both blimmin' rubbish with secrets, so it's as well we blabbed informed everyone, cos we most definitely would have slipped.

Can't remember when we decided on Sprog's proper name, but it's going to be incredibly hard to actually use it, having referred to her as Sprog throughout! It doesn't seem right to use her proper name at the moment - not until she's out safely.

Ah bless. I'm sure when you see her beautiful face 'sprog' just won't suit!

DD had her name from 8 weeks, good job she was a girl. We didn't tell tho, and it still took weeks to stop calling her baby.
