Regina (Mean Girls springs immediately to mind!)

(Ginny as a nickname?)

Please don't call your child Reginald. Or Regina (if you're in the UK, ok if you're in America).

Regina can be shortened to Jeannie instead of Ginny

I'm sorry, but Grin at a baby called Reginald.

Report
HolyBrrrrrrBatman · 08/11/2012 21:34

because it's really awful.

and because Regina rhymes with vagina (in England at least, in America they say Re-geee-na so it's ok).

Completely?
Sure?

In which case Maude, Doreen or Pauline might fit the bill

He was lovelySmile

I thought Regina was pronounced reg-ee-na? I wouldn't have thought it rhymed with vagina.

Anyway OP, I don't think it's too bad. I've seen Virginia suggested on here quite frequently and, in terms of teasing, I think that's much worse.

Reginald? These old people names have been taken too far. I'm expecting to see polls about Cedric and Maurice next.

Report
ivykaty44 · 08/11/2012 21:45

I don't see how it rhymes

Report
picnicbasketcase · 08/11/2012 21:47

Regina as in queen would be 'reg-eye-na' but as a person's name it's usually 'reg-ee-na' I think.

I went to school with a Regina (Re-geen-a), people were not kind to the name.

Report
ivykaty44 · 08/11/2012 21:51

the Regina I know says her name is reg -ee-na

I think this is why I am having trouble making the name rhyme rather than the head of states title Grin

I knew a Regina, and her name rhymed with vagina. She was foreign though. Never thought of pronouncing it Reg-ee-na.

dafi · 08/11/2012 22:23

Confused hahaha don't want vagina I'll think of something else

I love Reginald - it's cute. If you like it take no notice of the critics above.

I know a Regina who pronounces her name Re-geena. I like it. Re-gy-na sounds American, I don't like it.

And for a boy Reggie is cute. Reginald is a great underused name imo.

Reginald... fine (well, I hate it but only because it's not to my taste at all! :o)
Regina - awful. I though immediately of Regina Vagina.
