My goddaughter is Tabitha. Tabby is a lovely nickname too.

LauraPalmerPlusOne Tue 30-Oct-12 22:35:49

Tabitha - it was top on our list if our boy bump had been a girl!

BettyLovesBillie Tue 30-Oct-12 22:36:14

Oooooh a consensus so far! Interesting....keep em coming grin

Teapot13 Tue 30-Oct-12 22:36:51

Hmm. . . definitely Beatrix for me. I don't like Tabitha or Tabby, although I think it might be a bit more unusual right at the moment than Beatrix/Beatrice, if you care about that.

BettyLovesBillie Tue 30-Oct-12 22:46:53

I would prefer the less common alright....though I think they both may be getting popular. I also prefer the nn Bee rather than Tabby. But when it comes to the name in its full form I can't decide.

LauraPalmerPlusOne Tue 30-Oct-12 23:11:06

What about the nn 'Tib'?

LauraPalmerPlusOne Tue 30-Oct-12 23:12:57

(there was a book I loved when I was younger about three little friends named Betsy, Tacy & Tib - have loved the nn ever since!)

BettyLovesBillie Tue 30-Oct-12 23:14:15

Yeah I prefer Tib or Tibby.......could you possibly get away with Bee as a nn for Tabitha? Since it is in there Tab Bee Tha......if you say it really I just clutching at straws here! blush

echidnakid Tue 30-Oct-12 23:16:14

Beatrix for sure!

Alisvolatpropiis Tue 30-Oct-12 23:50:32

Tabitha! By a country mile. Tis lovely smile

Couldn't get past the cat connection for Tabitha so prefer Beatrice.

ZombieArmsDragOnTheFloor Wed 31-Oct-12 08:29:16

I really don't like Beatrix (Beatrice is far nicer) so if I had to pick one that leaves Tabitha.

LauraPalmerPlusOne Wed 31-Oct-12 10:08:37

I think that you can get away with anything when it comes to nicknames and Bee would definitely work for Tabitha.

(My dad's nn for me is still was 'Sparkle' and it's nowhere near my actual name! blush)

DottieRose Wed 31-Oct-12 20:21:47

Beatrix would be my pick

Otterpop Wed 31-Oct-12 21:45:57

Tabitha, gorgeous name!

ditzydrawers Thu 01-Nov-12 19:12:33

Love them both. Tabitha was on our list but it didn't go with our surname. But Bea is such a gorgeous nickname. I would go for Beatrix for that reason.

Tabitha sounds like a cat's name.

Binkybix Fri 02-Nov-12 17:58:49

I love Beatrix (hate Beatrice weirdly). Not fond on Tabitha.

I already have two DS's called Archie and Harry, I am expecting a third and if it is a boy I really like Bertie (it doesnt bother me about Bertie the bus!) I am struggling to find a name for a girl that is not everywhere and is not to 'posh'. At risk of upsetting my MIL, I am starting to really love the name Anne (after my Mum) I have never heard it yet for a little girl and it would actually mean something. My Mum would be thrilled of course! Just thinking now of Annes I like - Anne of Green Gables, Anne Hathaway, what does anyone else think?

I know someone who calls her daughter Bee. The girl's name is Eloise.
