yes! why! why! why!

that was my initial thought when i thought you meant it for a first name. But actually, as a middle name, it's really quirky and cute. And if you both like it - hurray!!

It sounds lovely but, yes, it is a bad choice and one to be avoided due to unsavoury Biblical namesake.

I like it.

I think 'Hey There Delilah' is a gorgeous song and detracts from the Tom Jones connections, and as long as you're not in Pontypridd or its surrounding environs, you'll probably get away with it.

I like it but she will have to contend with drunk old men some people singing "why why whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhy" at her Hmm

The Biblical connotations will cause a fair number of covertly raised eyebrows. And you/she may get very, very sick the Tom Jones song.

It's quite nice but I can't get away from the Tom Jones song or Hey there Delilah. The former is a good enough song but the latter is bloody awful.

I've got it stuck in my head now :(

The only people I know who call their daughters Delilah are Stoke City fans.

I wouldn't as a first name but as a middle name, why not. She doesn't have to admit to it if people are likely to be mean.

My name is very very popular in songs, but, to be honest you get over that and if you like the name go for it. My middle name is the name of a "stripper" in a song and I don't think anyone ever sang that at me.

I love Delilah, I also love Lilah.

There was a little girl named Delilah on This Morning today and the first thing Eamonn Holmes did was burst into song, I doubt it'd be a problem though if it was a middle name.

I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I really cant get my head around people who say there will be a few covertly raised eyebrows due to the biblical reference! And not to use it as a first name. I mean seriously who is going to look at a beautiful baby girl or 2 year old or four year old and think "Shes going to screw up some bloke later in life"! Its ridiculous. I can understand not calling your child Fred or Rosemary if your surname is West but at least that is current and realistic! I dont know a single person who would associate Delilah immediately with the bible. I think it is a beautiful name and am considering it as a first name for my next DC. And the older she gets the less there will be people around who will know the Tom Jones song. I would go for it - there is no sane argument above to warrant dismissing it if you love it!

I think it's lovely!

My dd also has a name with strong associations with a song (of the waltzing variety...) and she loves it when we sing it to her.
