I love the nickname Wolfie- but I need a ^name^

Well, I'm having twins on the 31st. And I've fallen in love with the nickname Wolfie. I just love it. But I need a name to go with it! Wolf might be a bit odd, Wolfgang is definitely not on and he can't be a Wolfie on his own? Maybe a name which means wolf?

Faolan is an Irish name (pronounce fway-lawn) that means wolf. Similarly Connall and Connor are generally agreed to mean either 'wolf' or 'hound'. (Some baby name books say one thing, some another).

I quite like Wolfie on it's own actually.

I mean really you can give him any name you wish and just have a nn Wolfie. I have plenty of friends with the completely different nicknames to their actual birth certificate names!

i.e.: Bundle is Catherine, childhood nn that has stuck

Or give him Wolfie as a mn and just call him by that. That way he has options in later life.

Short of naming him Wolfgang or similar, I would give him another name you like and nickname him Wolfie.

For instance, 'This is my son James; we call him Wolfie.'

Give him any name you like and call him Wolfie.

My daughter is nicknamed Bear. It has no resemblance to her actual name. She started with a nickname from her actual name and it kept mutating until it eventually became Bear, which she answers to.

In short, nicknames don't have to make sense/match/be derived from the actual birth certificate name.
