Do you think it is very out there? Or do you think most people would understand it?

notMarlene Fri 28-Sep-12 13:19:05

No, it's not 'out there' at all! A classic name, surely?

Love Dorothea, pronounced both Doro-thea and Doro-taya. Great underused name!

I'm glad you think it's classic, rather than just saying "old lady". I think so too.

Excellent nickname potential too.

(haven't seen any of your other threads)

Classic name - suprisingly underused given it ticks the current 'old lady' box quite well too. And lovely shortenings (Thea for me, but also like Dory)

yes, it's lovely!

Love it. If DC3 is a girl she will be a Dorathea. Love the Middlemarch connection. Love the nicknames Dora, Dodo, Dotty and Thea.

Sorry I meant "Dorothea" not "Dorathea"
